    Do something positive about increasing your sales

    As some of you might know Australia is looking to bring in internet censorship over 4 million Australians look at porn and buy porn this will slow down and almost stop if this goes ahead plus it not a good precedent to set for other countries who will be watching in interest. Spare a few minutes and sign the petition and do something active to help sales.

          It does seem as if it's a joke, that they designed it so that it could never happen just so
          they could say they tried for the conservative christians. However, there has been a
          disconnect and the old people working on it forgot to tell the new that it was a joke and
          they're running with it against all advice.

          Results from the Tasmanian study show that their best filtering software will slow the
          internet by 70-80% with 3% false positives. This will kill our economy as productivity falls
          with the speed of internet access, forcing us to compete at a disadvantage to other
          countries.

          They are serious, they are retarded, they have no idea what they're doing, and they may
          just get away with it.

              It just doesn't make any sense. Our broadband is already vastly inferior to many countries and at a time where Rudd is saying one of his priorities is establishing a high speed broadband network we have this ridiculous shit going on.

                  are involved now it seems. They've twisted the justifications up in their heads until no

                              This is no Joke these activist collecting this petition have achieved political change before whilst I might not share all there views on subjects I agree with them on this issue. Don't you believe that losing 4 million porn viewing public will have no affect on you? Australia is about the 5th biggest buyers of porn on the internet if you can afford to give up this revenue then ignore this thread.

                                                                  This is true, but GetUp are actually a pretty successful pressure group. They actively get out there and advertise on tv and have many, MANY volunteers to dispatch during elections to doorknock people to get their message across. It was most likely their effort that tipped the scales in the Ex Prime Minister's seat and actually make him only the second PM ever to lose both his own electorate and government. He was going to lose government anyway but GetUp! had a concerted pressure campaign in his electorate door knocking and generally fucking things up for him. I saw one resident say they'd been visited 4 times during the campaign by them. They barely saw the PM because he was flying all over the country shoring up support. He lost his seat 48.6% 51.4%. In short. It's not just an online petition what you're really doing is giving them anti-censorship soundbites for their tv spots or whatever.. "we raised 35,000 signatures in 24 hrs" etc. If it was just someone setting up a petition on online-petition.com or whatever.. yeah.. i'd massively agree it's a total waste of time.. But it's all good.. these guys are massive pains in the ass, couldn't think of a better place to give a bit of token support. (I have already donated money to other organisations, and will be meeting people involved in the campaign against it next week.)
