I called and asked for the person who handles the grant giveaways.

I left a number, but Anton never returned any of my calls."

Not even close to accurate. Where am I on that list?? Not to mention, where are the guys who run spamhaus? They're huge spammers, easily top 10 worldwide I would guess. They don't have to work around blacklists like the rest of us mailers.
Funny thing about lists like Rosko, they only count spammers who get termed from hosts. So guys who run their own datacenters, or have reliable hookups in places like HK (or Pakistan like myself). Not to mention mailers intelligent enough to have front companies incorporated in friendly nations that can't be traced to them.
I've been doing bulk mailing for damn near ten years, and I have been terminated from a host exactly once. Probably hundreds of billions of emails sent by me personally, and the way that list is set up, even if they knew everything about my business practices, I wouldn't qualify for their database. Yet some kid with a proxy mailer who gets termed from two $99/month servers over two months of mailing is in. Completely useless even if it were well intentioned, as opposed to the front for spammers that it is.
Note: While I am a bulk mailer who sends UCE, I have followed the can spam act to the letter since the day it was introduced. My business is completely legal, so you bitches out there with inferiority complexes because your 500k/day TGP only makes you $400 a month, don't waste your time crying to some LE agency about me.Palin/Bigotry '12Comment

Hey! Good for Python. Glad to see they're still rocking sales after all these years. Would have thought they'd all have so much money by now they'd start slipping like most people do when they achieve that level of success. Personally my numbers are way down from say four years ago, due to just not giving too much of a shit, and I'm nowhere near as successful as them. They must be exceptionally greedy bastards!

Well if true, I can at least give you credit for playing by the rules. One of the things that always annoyed me was how the govt treated e-mail spam. Pornographers and casino guys can't do it because we'd go to jail. Too late to do it now because the ression is going to kill consumer spending, but if you had something profitable enough there was a time when you might have been able to make money that way, I don't know, I've never looked in to it at all.
I was always surprised that I never got much general advertising for online stuff. I mean I always get tons of shit for industry stuff, but that's because I'm on lists all over the damn place. I always thought it was a market that hadn't been exploited. I kind of assumed that some folks tried it and just couldn't get the numbers to work. We certainly get enough of the shit from every brick and mortar business on earth. You'd assume that some wise online people would be able to make it work for them too.
AOL made a killing doing this, obviously. They had a service was very expensive and very profitable, and they did it at the exact right time, but they made fucking billions and it was all from snail mail spam.Palin/Bigotry '12Comment

That brings up an interesting point as well. I've always thought that instead of treating spam as a law enforcement issue, governments, data centers, and telecom companies should tax mailers.
Winning the war on spam militarily is going to be about as successful as the what, 30+ year attempt at winning the war on drugs that way.

However I don't like the argument that spammers are somehow abusing networks and bandwidth and blah blah blah. Spammers pay for their bandwidth just the same as anyone else who runs a for profit online site. The people we should be focusing on suing and arresting and outing like this list is doing, are the people who are hijacking computers and using them to send spam and whatever else.
