Russian analyst predicts decline and breakup of usa

A leading Russian political analyst has said the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the country is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts.

Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA published on Monday: "The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse."

The paper said Panarin's dire predictions for the U.S. economy, initially made at an international conference in Australia 10 years ago at a time when the economy appeared strong, have been given more credence by this year's events.

When asked when the U.S. economy would collapse, Panarin said: "It is already collapsing. Due to the financial crisis, three of the largest and oldest five banks on Wall Street have already ceased to exist, and two are barely surviving. Their losses are the biggest in history. Now what we will see is a change in the regulatory system on a global financial scale: America will no longer be the world's financial regulator."

When asked who would replace the U.S. in regulating world markets, he said: "Two countries could assume this role: China, with its vast reserves, and Russia, which could play the role of a regulator in Eurasia."

Asked why he expected the U.S. to break up into separate parts, he said: "A whole range of reasons. Firstly, the financial problems in the U.S. will get worse. Millions of citizens there have lost their savings. Prices and unemployment are on the rise. General Motors and Ford are on the verge of collapse, and this means that whole cities will be left without work. Governors are already insistently demanding money from the federal center. Dissatisfaction is growing, and at the moment it is only being held back by the elections and the hope that Obama can work miracles. But by spring, it will be clear that there are no miracles."

He also cited the "vulnerable political setup", "lack of unified national laws", and "divisions among the elite, which have become clear in these crisis conditions."

He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.

He even suggested that "we could claim Alaska - it was only granted on lease, after all." Panarin, 60, is a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has authored several books on information warfare.

No.

The amero is not going to happen.

The USA is the problem and Canada will NEVER accept a common currency

Sadly the US is on it's own this time.

It's not just Russians

US Analysts are predicting the break up and total dissolution of the USA aswell... it's not just russians and not just the nut jobs..

Hit google or youtube and watch some videos from "GERALD CELENTE" or "Peter Schiff"
Both are highly acclaimed, and BOTH have been DEAD ON RIGHT about most predictions they have made.

This proves, he has no clue as to the United States and how mix of a society we are.

Yea this article is just typical Kremlin propaganda fed to the Russian peasants to make them feel better about their miserable lives spent in a crowded, crumbling Soviet apartment blocks with no running water and intermittent electricity. The average Russian living on $200 a month can not even comprehend the amount of wealth that is commonplace in America.

Actually Russia has some of the most fertile farm soil on earth. They want to start a program like we do in America to provide more food to the world. Some people don't want that. What about you?

no... my argument as someone who speaks fluent russian and has lived and done business in russia through the transition and for a decade and made more money there than you would see in 10 lifetimes and as someone who has been a featured story in network news is that they are totally full of shit and the media is used solely for propaganda and journalists are whores... and the very point of releasing these types of articles is to draw attention away from their own crumbling financial system and economy that has ONLY done well in the last 10 years because of rising oil prices which are now completely tanking and compounding their financial problems in a way the US will never see or know.

regardless of what problems the US has (and incidentally, the entire developed world has) those facts remain unchanged.

fucking retard.

I'm not sure I buy the geographical fragmentation analysis.... While there's some minor linquistic differences in the US between the North South Midwest and West, I'm not sure it rises to the level of geographic fragmentation. As for ethnic differences, more unites Americans than divides them. Maybe he's just projecting what happened to the former Soviet Union?

not even close, do u even know what the unemployment was at that year. It was over 40%. Plus millions had lost their savings because of the collapse of the bank's. honestly most countries are doing worse financially than America. Russia is doing worse than America. they have a higher unemployment, higher inflation, there is a bigger gap the rich and the poor. And on top of that oil prices are dropping which was their main source of revenue

Interested shit you guys brought here. An average Russian lives on $200 a month means US economy is not downhill?

What a serious argument you made. Seriously.

Man, You guys gotta check your facts.

"the economy descended from essentially full employment in 1929 when the unemployment rate was 3.2 percent into massive unemployment in 1933 when the unemployment rate reached 25 percent"

Thanks for your input though.

"The unemployment rate rose by 0.4 percentage point to 6.5 percent in October, and the number of
unemployed persons increased by 603,000 to 10.1 million. Over the past 12 months, the number of
unemployed persons has increased by 2.8 million, and the unemployment rate has risen by 1.7 percentage
points."

Hmmm that's 2008 .. seems worse doesn't it?
6.5 percent and climbing.

yes but that stat only counts people who've been unemployed for a year, people who stopped looking or been unemployed for more than a year are not counted in that stats. Even right now that percentage is only for six months have people been unemployed people who went back to school, or stopped looking, or been more than six months are still not considered in that stat

Please link me to your source of stats then, seeing you have a magical source I can't find anywhere.

What a serious argument you made. Seriously.
The argument is that your perspective is skewed and like has been said, your understanding on the American way of life is hopelessly flawed. This is why people flock here from all over the planet and the rest of the world still looks here for leadership; military, political, economic and socio-cultural. For all its evils, this country is still THE bastion of humanity trying to understand how to cope with itself and the inherent problems our own *progress* accumulate over the centuries. Keep watching.. oh and thanks to you and all the other geniuses for their *theories*

Bwahahaha

Can't agree with the original article but your post is a good reflection of the biggest threats facing the US: arrogance and ignorance.

If you have ever spent any time reading Pravda you will see a common thread... there is always misinformation in the Russian media... way worse than the US media. The basic problem that the US has is that it has exported alot of it's manufacturing to other countries while the currency is based on labor. If that trend continues, we will be up shit crick... but there are alot of players in this game... and russia doesn't even have a seat at the table, currently. We are all bitches to the Chinese... if you don't believe me then you are a fool...

In other news: local analyst predicts the end is nigh, calls for repentance and spare change.
