hosting.com performance / experiences
We're receiving complaints that our initial site load is taking up to 30 seconds at times. Our non-adult business is currently hosted with hosting.com due to a particular vendor relationship we have. Can anyone else share their experiences with them as of late?

Crap crap crap!!
Hosting.com really sucks! We got stuck with them when they bought out a smaller local ISP, CTS Net. Since that buy out we had nothing but trouble. Big brain drain with the buy out was the first thing noticed, then the loss of big blocks of IP's, constant router trouble, and super slow ping times. Febuary of last year we moved all our equipment to Level 3 and sales jumped through the roof. I had no idea how chocked down we were with Hosting.com. Hosting.com seems to route everything through some really wierd pathes. They are trying to control every path to all their ISP's but it seems to be taking years. In order to control costs they won't buy bandwidth from the major players. Level 3, Sprint, UUNET, ect ect. Which is causing huge bottle necks on their network. Least this is what I was told by a former employee. Who knows, I just know they suck and Level 3 is the best. |

Thanks for the response. Not only is their performance sporadic, their support staff seems to be non-existent. Since we are about to embark on a new direct marketing campaign which drives people to our site, I think a change of provider is in order.
