Although for some of you the damage might be done, I've found that working out your wrists, forearms and upper arms can protect against and prevent such injuries. I spend upwards of 10 hours a day in front of a computer most days and have been in the field of tech from '94.
Simple low weight dumbbells are inexpensive and I'm sure that most of you can surf and click with either hand while working out the other.
15 minutes (doing wrist curls, forearm builders and bicep/tricep curls) for each arm each day can work wonders in building up the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. (See a doc before you do if you already have pain. You don't want to aggravate an injury that's already there.)
Additionally, I don't use any special ergonomic keyboards and mice, but I do make sure that my posture and arm positions are correct when working for long periods.
