does something like this exist? Can Itunes do it?

some songs have the album name, song name, song number all in sorts of weird orders. Is there a program out there to organize the music and rename the files/tags?

Here's a cool little utility called ReNamer. It allows you to rename multiple files. I'm sure you could use it to do what you want.

TagScanner does this but the cool part is it connects to the net and finds already built playlists for albums and then applies it to your list. the UI a bit convoluted, (like it was built by a programmer) but once you get the hang of it it's great for fixing your ID3's and file names. I had CD's i had ripped before ID3's became the norm and was able to fix them fast with it
