Namecheap is a great company

I started using predominantly namecheap a few months ago and I am 100% satisfied with their service. I have done a ton of transactions and changes lately and they are on top of everything. I love how fast and quick it is to make simple changes, push domains, etc. Great company

http://www.namecheap.com

For all your domain needs.

yeah just don't forget to pay all your domains on time.

They have ZERO grace period.

I had a payment get fucked in their system, the domain didn't get paid, and the next day POOF! it was gone because it expired and their shitty ticket system wasn't answered in time.

They will not release the domain to you, once it expires, it becomes theirs. FOREVER.

So pay your domains way ahead of time just in case!

Other registrars don't give you the shaft like that. I'm still heartbroken over my namecheap eposide, and this is the first I have bitched about it anywhere. I lost a pretty good domain to those assholes!

Yeah no grace period though and I lost a good domain because of that, my own fault of course.

Yep.

Make sure you renew your domains EARLY. I remember I was within 5 days of expiration of a couple, and their payment processor was down, or some other excuse. They could not process the payment, and I had to rip them a new one, and they finally did a manual transaction outside of their processor to make sure I did not lose my domains.

So do it in advance to make sure you do not run into grief.

Hmmm I didn't know that either... Guess I better turn on auto renew, although that makes me uncomfortable.

yeah ever since the register fly crap hit the fan couple years ago, I have domains all over the place because I was frantically transferring them away, etc.

and I haven't had the time to consolidate them with one company, and honestly with the way things are I feel better having them spread around anyways... but I have multiple print outs to remind myself of all these domains I have to renwe now. I really need to downsize my portfolio but have too many backlinks out there.

so watch out,... this no grace period thing with them came with no warning either. None that I found anyways.

your first "renew now" warning comes 30 days before it expire. If you deside to risk your domain by waiting till the last days, blame yourself - not namecheap

They actually do have a grace period. After your domain expires it will leave your domain list, but if you click "reactivate domains" in the left column it will usually be there at least a couple weeks past expiration. I've renewed several domains with them a week after expiration.

I'd like to comment on this thread. We have ALWAYS had a grace period of atleast 28 to 30 days. This has never changed in the last 9 years we have been in business and never will. For those of you claiming otherwise, I'd like to see the proof of it.

When a domain expires it goes under the re-activate tab were it can be renewed at our regular pricing at any time. Please, let's not make false accusations or claims here.

Our suppport team will also manually renew any domains for you if requested via live chat and they all know we have a grace period. Anyone that claims otherwise did not attempt to contact our support and if they did and something different was said, please post the proof. I am here to answer any questions.

Cherry Lula, please prove this. Let's see a ticket ID. I'll be happy to come back here and prove you wrong. What's exactly is your agenda here?
