GT40's rock. Just saw an original one the other day. The reason they are called a GT40 is because they were only 40 inches tall. Can't wait for the new ones to be on the road.

I don't find it very aesthetically appealing. It looks a bit boxy. For that sort of cash I'd rather get a Lambo Diablo.

I beg to differ . . .
Carrol Shelby's shop was 40 paces from his back door, and he used that number for the car.

It's true, the numerical designation on the GT 40 was based on the vehicle's height. the 40 paces thing makes for nice urban legend, however.

From that aspect it looks ok. But from the back, sides and looking down on it.. it doesn't appeal to me. Very boxy.

I'm not saying I wouldn't like one, just that in its probable price range the Diablo's (and the new M's) are much slicker.

It's a few income brackets away (downwards) but Peugeot's 206CC was a concept car which went on sale throughout Europe/Australia (buttom of page).

I bought one. It's cool - has a hard top which folds away into the trunk and leaves room in there for bags and whatnot.

All I got to say about Peugot is they make one PHAT ass rally car...which is why Richard Burns left Subaru..and why Marcus Gronholm has already picked up the drivers championship in WRC!

nice car..I heard about it coming back into limited production like over 6 months ago!

I remember seeing a review of the car at one of the major car shows over in Europe on TV and from what I can remember it will be pretty close to the original specs...however it will be a bit higher..and I think a bit taller as well...plus the retro version will have A/C!
