The other night I went out of town and it was $1.97 out in the sticks. In my area $2.07 is still the lowest I'm seeing, though perhaps it's lower today...

I filled up at $2.19 this morning in Tampa at the Shell by my house (always more expensive for some reason). I drove abobut 2 miles down the road and saw it at BP for $2.01.
I'll take it either way. It cost me $51.43 to fill up my tank at $2.19.. I can't wait for it to drop a little lower. I'm still cautious of my driving out of habit from the $4/gal prices, but I do eat out a bit more now. Hopefully the economy will get better!
I hear in texas thats the price too but I guess arizona suffers from California hangover cause we are still paying 2.35. when the barrel was $147 gas was $4.01 now that its under $60 we are paying $2.35 so do the math.
well over 50% drop in cost of commodity and not close to 50% drop in price at the pump.
We need some change at the FTC that goes after the thieves and cheats.
Just for everyones information...politicians have no power over the price of gas. Contrary to what everyone thinks/says.
Indirectly I think they do... Do you really think OPEC and the big wigs at Shell and Exxon want politicians sympathizing with outrageous gas prices and promising development of clean renewable energy? Promises that the people might actually hold them to if prices stayed as high as they were permanently? It's a big fucking game IMO. Wait til Obama's actually in office and has a few months under his belt, once the 'honeymoon' is over I bet gas prices start going back up.
I remember media panicking over expensive gas and now that price is down no one even mentions it.
But I think that period of expensive gas did more good than people actually think.
Less pollution, less traffic and we are getting a good range of new, smaller and more fuel efficient cars.
And now that gas price is down I guess it is a good time to buy a Hummer, before they bury it. ;-)
SO.. gas prices are low... no surprise there.. same shit happens every time the US starts talking about energy independence.... while some say that demand and supply rules this market I say theres gotta be some shit going on with those OPEC bastards... Once everyone has forgotten about developing cars that run on alternative fuels the high prices will come back....
