I'm sure by now this has been debunked somewhere below this original message I'm quoting...

but I have 6 domains sitting in grace period right now. i can view, renew, or ignore all of them.

Isn't that exactly how you got it resolved?

I'm not trolling you cherry, just simply correcting your erroneous statement in multiple threads that Namecheap has no grace period. Its obvious you didn't know how to reactivate your expired domain. I gathered that the domain you lost was important to you because of your rant in another thread.

ther registrars don't give you the shaft like that. I'm still heartbroken over my namecheap eposide, and this is the first I have bitched about it anywhere. I lost a pretty good domain to those assholes!
Glad you were able to get the glitch fixed quickly with your account, just didn't see why all the hate drama over something so minor.

Fletch XXX 11-11-2008 04:38 PM

back to thread topic.

this thread is NOT ABOUT GRACE PERIODS.

IT IS ABOUT DOMAINS MYSERIOUSLY DISAPPEARING from accounts and you HAVING TO CONTACT THEM TO GET THEM BACK.

anything else is off topic and will not be responded to.

Sweet! Is it free, how can I sign up for this option to have my domains randomly removed?

Cherry is my partner, she is part of my (our) business and I am part of this regardless of how you feel. She noticed a domain disappear and made the thread, the trolls come and want to argue about grace periods, detracting from what the thread is really about, I set it back on track.

Anyhow, I shouldnvt even have replied to you but I am professional and this does involve me

With registerfly, before the big fuckups that brought them down, I lost a domain I paid over a grand for due to one of their fuckups. It's sitting there in my account with an expiration date of 2009. Go to change some details and it says the domain doesn't exist. Contact support, explain the situation and they fix the problem. And by fix the problem, they mean they removed the domain from my list of domains. After all, it wasn't my domain, apparently. Complete fuckups.

I've never had any problems with eNom. Knock on wood.

Corleone 11-12-2008 03:20 AM

thanks for the heads up. using them for a while never had problems

cherrylula 11-12-2008 05:27 AM

and guess what?

The grace period doesn't mean shit, if the domains expire and do NOT show up in the renew/reactivate section. I think a lot of people have experienced this, and thought the same thing I did, that the domains were deleted from their account post expiration date before the 30 day grace period ended. If the domains are not showing up in your account for you to renew, you can cry about grace periods all day, it won't help. :1orglaugh

I've renewed hundreds of domains though namecheap, tons that expired into their grace period, but when the domains aren't showing up at all in your account, you can't renew them, change them, move them, edit them, or do shit with them.

I'd have had my attorney deal with them if the domains I lost due to that were valuable.

not good, not good at all.

Hopefully, they are fixing this issue.

okdesign 11-12-2008 05:31 AM

I got the same problem about 1 year ago!!!! :(

I had thought I lost a few too, man was that a headache of an adventure, but I hassled enom forever and ever and finally got every single one back.

You should still go raise hell and threaten people with litigation til you get it back! that is a shame.

Cherry Lulu,

Just because a low level tech told you there was a bug with our system does not make it true. There could have been other reasons this happened including it being a different folder you may have created. We do not purposely remove domains from our users accounts and it is definitely is NOT a common occurence for it to happen as a bug. If it was, it would be fixed, period. We are not in the business to screw our clients in any way shape or form. We are upfront with everything we do including our pricing and straighforward control panel. We have always worked on the premise of being an honest and upfront company and will always do so. We have absolutely no reason to try and steal a clients domain or not allow them to renew their domain. Once again, you were talking with a low level tech in live support and we make that VERY clear here before you even access the the chat: https://support.namecheap.com/livesupport.php . For you to claim what they may have told you as gospel is not fair. Had it been a senior tech that had thouroughly investigated the issue and then told you this would be a different case so atleast be objective here.

I stated this in another thread. We have ALWAYS had a grace period of atleast 28-30 days at our regular pricing and will continue to do so into the future. This has NEVER changed so anyone claiming otherwise, please post proof of it. Any ticket ID will do.

I knew you'd be in here to set the dumb slut straight!

haha, keep up the good work Richard!

RichardK 11-12-2008 07:01 PM

Josh I'm not saying 100% it wasn't some sort of glitch but we'd atleast have liked a chance to investigate it thoroughly before we jump to that conclusion. It will most likely be difficult to figure this out now since the issue no longer exists. I am waiting to hear more details.

Now the claim that we don't allow a grace period(past or present) after a domain expires, Is 100% untrue. That I can say for sure.

Exactly, but instead of actually trying to help you guys figure it out, she immediately came here to publicly bash you guys.

Interesting, now you admit to there being a grace period when you've been telling everyone that they don't have one.

Fletch, cherry mentioned again in this thread that namecheap didn't have a grace period, the second time in a week she has erroneously stated that. Just because someone challenges a statement that is untrue doesn't make them a troll. There was no detraction, if she hadn't stated that I wouldn't have been in this thread.
