ICQ or Trillian?

trillian doesn't run as fast as icq

Trillian trashed my icq contacts list twice in the past, lot of problems. I'd stick with an old banner free version of icq

don`t install trillian. Because of it 300+ contacts from my ICQ list were gone. Your problem is a small one

On ICQ:

Press left [Ctrl] + [Shift] for left-to-right text and

press right [Ctrl] + [Shift] for right-to-left text.

Sidenote: If you are using a right-to-left language with ICQ, right-to-left text is default (for example Hebrew and Arabic).

I've used trilian for 5 years or so, and I'll never use anything else. Stay with the basic, though - the pro is annoying.

I have run trillian for 2+ years and the only issue I had was putting it on Vista. I now have to run it as the administrator. But thats it. Other than that I love the way it deals with multiple chat protocols.

PS: I was desperate when I was in the same situation

so I understand the feeling.
Don`t ever use trillian if you care about your contacts! I worked few months to get my contacts back....

icq is buggy. if i text them before adding them to my list I cant add them to my list later unless i close the program and restart it.

and there is no icq for unix what do you guys use on there?

icq bugs at times , but ive been sticking with it since does the job as long as you know what to do and what not to do

but on a mac it looks especially outdated

overall , bump for ICQ

I've been using Pidgin for a few months now and love it to bits. I was a hardcore Trillian user for years n years.

If you have lots of contacts use icq, otherwise the others are fine to try and see what you like

ICQ has been crashing a lot lately.At least when it recovers,you could still see the mesagges.
