Any fine art print collectors around?
I'm starting to get my collection up quite a bit now, and I'm looking to find some ways to store these pieces while maintaining their values. I have stupidly been keeping them in the tubes out of sheer laziness. I have been looking for some museum quality print boxes for 18x24 prints, but can only find 20x24. Will this work?
http://www.bagsunlimited.com/cart/browse.asp?subcat=147 Of course I will be using Mylar (Polyester) Sleeves and Acid free tissue paper for each print, but it's the storage that it worrying me at this point. When the markets fall, one must look to invest elsewhere! ![]() Do you know of any other good archival material sites? So far, Bagsunlimited is all I can find. ![]() |

Lately I have been pretty into Ron English, Dave Kinsey. I have always been a big Ralph Steadman fan and for pure resale value, Shepard Fairey. Of course with my taste of modern artists, I am an obvious fan of Warhol, Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, David Hockney. The next step in collecting for me, is obviously that next tier of artists, but the newer artists are an easy stepping stone, with an abundance of prints available. ![]() |

![]() Curious though, as to how you can't see art being an investment? If you have a $10 million dollar Picasso on the wall that you spent $5 million on, but want a change, you wouldn't consider putting it up for sale, doubling up your initial investment and maybe buying 2 or 3 other pieces that you'll enjoy just as much? |
