I've noticed that since I started posting here again, after 2 years of very light lurking, I am acting more like a prick when I deal with people in my daily life...

Believe all you want, the fact remains you DO have a choice in how you behave.
By your own admission and the very basis of environmental psychology, which relies on the loss of responsiblity in the individual within a group dynamic, your "environment" dictates your emotional state. Right?
Well this "Passing" of personal responsibilty onto the shoulders of the group allows for the justification that one is not in control nor can be held responsible for their emotions or behaviour. It is a cope out.
If I lived in an environment of criminals, I myself choose whether to be a criminal or not. Might I be influenced? Certainly... But only ignorance of self can allow for something to "control" you.

The choices you make are based on what you LEARN from external sources and you never stop learning. Its the whole basis of psychology and psychiatry. Its not all magically put in your brain by your genes.
Just like your example of teaching your son the right thing. Its a product of your external influence on his choices.

I think posting online does that to you. There isnt the back and forth of a conversation,so I think it makes it very easy to cross the line. Also not being face to face with someone I think also makes a difference.Comment

I see a lot of witty one liners. No real deep flaming. You have to get into one of those nerd fights where you go back and forth for 3-4 posts over semantics alone.
For instance you could say something like "You probably didn't even search my posts because its quite clear many of my posts contain multiple lines" In response to this post.
