Paulo Filho is a bad ass fighter, but he didn't make weight yesterday (over by seven pounds on the first weigh in!), was fined 1/3rd of his purse to be awarded to his opponent. Unfortunately this means this fight will not be a title fight for would be challenger Chael Sonnen. Zuffa, the UFC & WEC parent Corp. had already decided to fold the WEC Middleweight and Light Heavyweight weight classes anyway after this fight. As a result of this fiasco, it remains to be seen whether Paulo will be invited to join the UFC now as he was expected to.
