It was also developed 80 years ago by RKO pictures. It's known as a "green screen" and it can sometimes look amazing as in the movie 300, and it can sometimes look like shit, like on the CNN video.

but that's the thing, you can see the person as if they were standing in front of you, the camera was just filming that

look it up on youtube, ive seen it used before to demonstrate the technology at some conference somewhere and it was being filmed from the crowd

That was not a hologram.. Blitzer didnt see her, in 3D, in front of him... It was crappy special effect...

Maybe our news resource (dutch tv) was wrong but this is how they explained it:

The guy is in the regular studio and the lady is in another studio in front of a green wall(s). They play the 2 frames as layers on eachother and thats what you see on tv. So the guy is not seeing her at all. Now the camera work is mirrored in both studios to make it look even more real.

But I don't get it, if someone is on-location, why have them in the studio? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having on-location reporters?

whats so hard to understand? were talking about hologram, in Iron man he uses one and when I was watching it.. first thing that came to mind was cam girls being that relistic.
