My son has a teacher now that hates Obama, but not once has said one thing racist about him, now he may TODAY, we've been watching him close. But he hates him because he isn't Republican, or so we are hoping that's all it is. When Obama won, my son told me his Social Studies teacher wasn't going to like this very much, and I told him to fuck him, it's his problem and he said that he'll make it the students problems today..... so I am just waiting to see what happens there today. lol yys.. that's a sad way to learn a lesson, but sometimes it has to be taught in different ways, but at least you learned it. Teachers just don't realize sometimes what impact they have on these kids, or maybe they know EXACTLY the impact they have, who knows. Either way, it sucks. |
Whoo Hoo for Obama

great post, and applicable to more than the United States!

I'm white. If someone calls me white I am not going to get pissy. Why are people going INSANE PC over this kid saying they are brown/black? THEY ARE.
What I want Obama to do next is in a speech to say "Please stop calling me African American. I am JUST an American." |
Beautiful post Tam! I am glad for you!

I don't think that Obama voters expect him to solve all of our problems. Instead, I think that the American people are once again happy to have a leader who inspires. Agree with Obama or not, you can't say he doesn't do that. In the end, government won't solve our problems. For too long we have been sitting on our fat asses expecting government to fix our problems for us. Good leaders, like Lincoln, FDR and Kennedy (and hopefully Obama) are more than 'figure-heads'. They inspire people to better themselves and their country. At the very least, It's nice to have a sliver of optimism again.

I don't raise me no pussies, but I don't raise me no bullies either. lol Having Obama as President gives HIM and kids like him hope, which sadly has been missing from a great deal of people these days. And not even so much a race thing, but he pulled himself out of a lifetime of struggles, financially and other areas to be the man he is, and if that teaches these kids in those positions anything, it should teach them that ANYONE can do anything if they want it bad enough. THAT is my whole point...... Basically, let no one tell you that you can't do anything because of race, status, religion or otherwise.... do what you do and do it well. Who was the last "role model" we had? Bush? Oh honey please.. with a role model like that, no wonder there is so much hate these days... look at our leader and the hatred and anger HE possesses, yeah, I want THAT as a role model for my children. lol |
Thank you for the beautiful story. I loved Obama's speech in Chicago yesterday. No matter who we are, we are Americans. Go Obama!
