which resulted in our dollar being tied heavily to oil prices.

it one of the reasons our dollar is worth so much compared to the US dollar (comparitively to Euro/ yen) we hold our value because oil prices prop our dollar up (which hurts all the other industries)

The carbon tax would have decoupled the dollar from oil prices by quickly putting a buffer between the enviromental responsiblity we has canadian foster which was normally ofset by the lower value of your dollar and the price of the resource we sell (oil)

        He's not a poutine-eating asshole from Quebec...so that's a good start.
Obama won't like Harper, and Harper is sad now as he was a pro Bush Ass licker.

        Fuck Harper

Give young Trudeau 6-8 years and let's give the guy a chance. If he's like is father then he will be a great leader for this country.

I doubt the Democrats will like our so called Prime Minister (so called because less than a majority of Canadians actually voted for him since we have too many left side parties but that is another story all together). You are right he is not from Quebec, nope he's a ultra secretive right wing conservative bible thumper from Alberta, much better .

good idea, really bad sound bit.
Guy can't carry himself in a debate either
harper turned this country into a resource economy and dion didn't tear him a new asshole for it.

btw you do realize that obama hates nafta and likes to blame it for the woes in the US.
so expect some blame canada to come from his presidency.
Badabing... we have a winner. The ONLY reason Haper got re elected is that only 60% of registered voters voted because everyone was away to ashamed of electing a guy name Stephane Dion who as zip of Charisma, Nada of Cahounas to give it to Harper... Basically a total loser with a first name that's ment for a hockey player or a guy that pumps gas... Sorry for all the Stephane's out there ;-)

Once Liberals re elect someone good take over will happen.

Again it is far fetched to say that Harper, who was first elected with a minority government in '06, is responsible for the Canadian economies relience on resource exports.

                  Obama already dosen't like Harper.

Obama was telling americans that he would change the free exchange treaty, while a journalist released from Harper that obama assured him he wouldn't change it for now.

Harper would be a middle of the road candidate in the U.S.; either Dem or Repub. He is a far cry from what passes for right wing in the U.S.

Show me a right winger in the U.S. for universal health care, who would allow same sex marriages, have no interest in banning abortions, etc...

If he's anything like his father...he'd hide out in northern Quebec to avoid serving in the military.

Pierre Trudeau was a good leader at times - but I could never forgive him for being a draft dodger.
