    So what's the story with MS Office 2007?

    The last couple of days I have been receiving .doc as .docx and .xls as .xlsx That format only opens correctly if you have Office 2007

    What was the thought process on that?

      For you to upgrade? If you have Offixe XP you can open 2007 Documents. You just need to go to MSFTs website and DL the update.

          It was a pain in the ass for a while with people using older office programs and myself using the newer one. Now a days most people have upgraded so it doesn't happen as much.

              The folks sending you files need to save them as Word 97-2003 compatible files.

              Also, MS offers a free utility which will convert 2007 docx.

                                  anyway the same file in docx is alot smaller in size than in doc i think thats the reason they switched it up...

                                      2007 has alot more applications and shortcuts but I admit it can be a pain in the ass. With so many people that havent upgraded I always save my documents as the 2003 compatible format.

                                              You should NEVER attack family no matter how much you hate Baddog or anybody else. Yeah, this board is called GFY but this is just a cheap shot.
