    Shooting Niches & Micro Niches

    Do you think that any content producer can shoot any niche out there?

    I can only speak to my experience, but do you think non-foot people can shoot foot content that sells? Same as a tit, ass, bdsm, or other niche requires a specific photographer or producer... or..... do you think anyone with a camera can shoot stuff that will sell and convert?

                          Good input.

                          This question comes up now and again when someone asks me to shoot for them. I know I could never shoot an ass, or breast, or blonde site. It would have to have some kind of foot love in it for me to be able to, or even WANT to shoot it. Regardless of the money.

                          But some content producers claim they can shoot anything for a price.

                          I am curious as to what the other vets out there think, or have failed at, in the endevors.

                                                          Companies spending thousands to shoot a new site's worth of material, and basically it turns into bare foot chicks doing hardcore, softcore, or lesbian whatever. A clip is 10 minutes long, and has 10 seconds of toe love. Or some hardcore scene, and because he licked the bottom of her foot once, they try and pass that shit off as foot fetish.

                                                          Other than DDF, there are maybe a dozen others out there in the online foot fetish niche who shoot it right. But there are probably hundreds of sites. Although most are filled with rerun shit we have seen for the past 10 years.

                                                              I think the really good shooters have found something they like shooting and understand it, that said one must have the ability to shoot video/photos well in general.
                                                              A person can do research into the workings of fetishes and garner enough understanding to at least do a reasonable job of it. I like to understand something before I shoot it and it has worked out well so far, I also have a shit load of sexual proclivities. (Which helps)

                                                                              If you're a good enough technician and/or artist and you take the trouble to research the subject matter I got to figure that you'll get good or better results most of the time.

                                                                              If you're actually into the subject matter however it is infinitely easier to get kick ass results on damn near every occasion (and decent results the rest of the time).

                                                                                  With all the of the threads on the board this year talking about how everyone needs to get into the niches, and micro niches to make any money. I thought this would be an interesting discussion. Especially for the seasoned vets mentioned.

                                                                                  I know I have read plenty of threads over the years where people have tried to get into the niches, and failed. I have seen plenty in my foot tenure fail as well. But its so obvious that no help is needed in spotting non-foot fetish folk behind the camera.

I think if you had half a brain it wouldn't be that hard to shoot good content in whatever niche even if you weren't into it and had never seen it before. It just means you spend a night going through the highest rated sites in that niche and working out that it doesn't mean a 5 second hint of it in a 30 min hardcore scene (I say a night asuming it's a one off shoot, obvious if you're going to try and "break" into the niche it's months of research). Even if you had to print out screenies every min to make a "storyboard" for the shoot and just copy what the good guys are doing. I think the only difference is knowing innately what to shoot and how to shoot it and having to put some research into it... The guy that loves his work will probably always be ahead in adherence to the niche by 5-10% but a talented person that actually takes the time to work out what's going on can be almost indistinguishable... I guess like most things, most people aren't talented and too stupid to spend the time. Although I will add, 5 second foot licks are more likely a financial decision than a creative one.. ie "we need to fill out the member's area - uh here's some vaguely related dvds that might bost retention 5% by tripling the content".

                                                                                                              I love pantyhose however I would need the client to tell me which brands to get again.... it's very specific and I would need to be reminded. as far as panty fetish, I love panties and upskirt

                                                                                                                                              I wouldn't say that any producer could do a good job of filming any and every niche that they weren't into, but many of the talented ones could if they were really motivated to learn. I have a few fetishes myself so I tend to indulge them in my own movies. I would tend to gravitate towards certain niches that I liked if I was going to film some niche videos. If I got hired to film something that I wasn't particularly into like foot fetish, and I did my research, I have confidence that I could do a great job with it. The only things I wouldn't even attempt to film would be gay porn, she-males, or cigarette smoking videos. I just don't wanna be in the room for those!

Can't even come close to someone who truly knows/loves the niche they are filming. Doesn't mean that they can't make some money off it, but it won't be "right" to the true fetish lover.

                                                                                                                                                                          having the fetish really helps. that's what's going to make you spend the time to 'hone your craft' I sure don't believe that everyone with 'your particular fetish' wants to see 'exactly' what you do. however I do believe that shooting what you like helps you understand what others like and that reading member feedback broadens your perspective on the fetish, giving you a better understanding of your own needs as well as others.

Well I've done great with it for years and my site members love the stuff I've done - I've never had problems making sales.

                                                                                                                                                                                          Now let me give you a bit of a contrast. There was this gay guy I used to know who told me that I wouldn't know what to do (because I'm not gay...) And he offered to come and instruct me and give me "tips"... Right. Anyway, the stuff I've shot since the very first day I started shooting has blown away most producers gay content by a large margin. I attribute my success to simply being intuitive with my understanding of what people want to see.
