Stay the fuck away from SPRINT!

When the Instinct came out I was thinking cool, I'll get one of those and give it a shot. I was with T-mobile but decided to go with Sprint so I could get an Instinct. I selected the unlimited everything plan for $99 a month. Sounds simple enough, right?

    WRONG!

After getting hit with almost $300 in "activation, number porting, and connection fees", I get my first actual bill for $139.00. Not $99 as advertised. I called and asked about the first fee of $300 and finally said fuck it and paid the bill. It was costing me more to call and be placed on hold than it would have been to just pay the damn thing. But my actual unlimited plan bill being $139 a month instead of $99 was bothering me.

I called Sprint again and got another bullshit answer about this fee and that fee and local tolls and 911 fees...pretty much every fucking hidden fee you could think of!

I'm usually not one to bitch about money unless I'm getting fucked out of some and in thise case, Sprint is F'ing me in the A hardcore! If you use Sprint, cancel your account and if you're not; stay the fuck away from these crooks!

I signed up for $39 and never called jack shit on that phone but my bill was always $79.
I never got even one bill for $39 and when I tried to close the account it took 3 days on the phone with the most awesome run-around routine I ever saw.

    Go figure.

i've always had sprint and they have good plans...the cost can save you like 40% compared to similar services elsewhere if you do use the data/web etc. but you have to always watch out for their errors in billing.

call customer service and before any prompt just say cancel or if you get someone and say you want to talk to "retentions", it's top of cs chain - if they have any error in billing they will credit you or give you free shit for their errors (normal customer service won't)

Ive had sprint for years, never had a problem with them. Id call CS like RTP suggested, and they should correct any errors and hook you up with some freebies (like silicone casings for the instinct) Good luck!

Are you in the LA area? If so, that sounds about right. You have Federal fees, state fees and city/county of LA fees.

I've never heard of any of that. They charged me nothing to switch over, I got a Palm Centro free and only pay $35 a month (check out the SERO program)

Phone bills are notorious for hidden fees. They all do it, even landlines.

The town I live in actually adds a fee to my cell phone bill, if you can believe that.

used sprint back in 2001. they were the only co who allowed contract subscription for non residents. I signed up for 39.99 and it was like that all the time excpet extra minutes i talked above the plan range.
