I want to preface this with the fact that I think Palin is a blithering moron.

but...

I don't see the problem with this... politics is based in large part on appearance. I think it would have been silly to not have her appear before the world in style. not that it helped.

also, I bet mcain and obama spent about the same or more. figure $2k a suit.. 75 suits for $150k... 75 different suits for a campaign doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

Actually I recall Obama doing a family interview on some show. He apparently does not like spending to much on clothing, and his wife is more apt to spend. However she often shops on a more frugal level.

I actually was curious when this would come out though. Nearly every clip I have seen of her giving a speech, at a rally, or whatever. She has been wearing high end designer clothing. Hell that was one of the things people were talking about after her debate. I suppose you could justify it some- not easily in today's economy but well I am sure people can. However I do not see how anyone could justify the same level of clothing for her kids.

Slightly confused.
The baby was thought to be her daughters and that Palin was pretending to be the real mother. In order to show that was not true, she outed that her daughter was currently knocked up by her boyfriend and thus could not really be the babies momma. Then since her daughter was now thrown under the bus and outed for being knocked up, there was a wedding where the daughter and the boyfriend got hitched.

As a side note, She will soon be (or currently is depending on if you believe the pregnancy thing) a grandma and thus making her a GILF to many and must be stripped of her MILF title.

You really do not get it do you. It's the Republicans policy of trickle down in action. Even a moron like me can see that. This is how it works for the less bright of you.

She spends $150,000 on expensive clothing for herself and probably more for her children when they turn up at a rally. Of this $150,000 the sales girl at the stores probably got 5% if she was hitting her targets. So there you are right away $7,500 has trickled down. Then the store has a profit which is needed to pay the high wages of the executives and the low wages of the cleaners.

Then a huge chunk of it goes to the designer label which is probably not a US company and they pay some sweat shop worker in the Far East a pittance. So the trickle down is working fine for the sales girl, the big execs, the over seas companies and most important about the trickle down is it works for the ones at the top.

They are constantly harping on about the Government deciding where your money is spent. Now you can see how well they will spend it.

Don't worry about the money trickling out of the system, I'm sure the designer labels will send some back. Just not to you.

Just occurred to me. Stars don't pay for their wardrobes for public events, they get them given to them because the designer label wants the exposure. Couldn't Palin make a few phone calls and get it for free. Or did she not bother to think about that?

You see how wisely they spend money. Let's give them some big bucks to spend.

Thanks for explaining it for me, that shed a little more light on it. I haven't really followed her 'official' story about it. Although, I still smell bullshit. Let's see if your BS detector lights up with an excerpt from this WSJ article about Palin.
