I think that voting should be limited to employed, law abiding, tax paying, natural born Americans that have served in some type of public service. Public service can be anything from the forestry service to the military, peace corps or political service at any level from local to federal. But in order to determine who leads, you should have to know what it is to serve.

The US got completely fucked up when Democrats starting leveraging minority voting blocks for elections and Republicans starting leveraging religious and higher level economic groups for the same purpose. The final nail in the coffin was limiting the political system to two parties and turning lobbyists loose with little to no oversight. It equates to having no choice but one of the heads of the same beast and depending on who you are and where you are in the system, it means a slightly more or less lubed fucking.
