Canadian Beer vs American Beer
Which regular beer do you think has more alcohol, American or Canadian?
I'll give the answer later.

Ok here it is:
In the United States alcohol in beer is measured by weight (abw), while in Canada it is measured by volume (abv). The two systems produce different figures but for the sake of comparison, a beer that is 5 per cent abv is equal to one that is 4 per cent abw. For example, Coors Extra Gold is 3.9 per cent abw and Labatt Blue is 5 per cent abv. They would have about the same amount of alcohol. Found that quite interesting. Heres where I found that. http://www.beer.com/ca/articles/be_a...5_canvsus.html

American beer shouldn't be called beer - almost impossible to get drunk from the stuff.
Canadian beer is definately better , and anyone who thinks otherwise either hasn't drank Canadian beer or is absolutely stupid. |

There are good American and Cansdian beers, and there are shitty American and Canadian beers.
But if you are going to talk about beer, why in the name of all that's holy would you even mention anything Coors? I mean, that shit's approved by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - after all, it's pure rocky mountain goat piss. |

Lets not forget people that America is comprised of people from every country worldwide.
There are brewers in America who follow strict german brewing standards and the beer is very potent. Check these guys out: http://www.weepingradish.com/ourbeers.htm ------------------------------------------------------------ Made from all natural ingredients, the Weeping Radish Brewery continues in a true German beer making tradition. Following the Reinheitsgebot, or German Purity Law of 1516, only water, malted barley, hops, and yeast are used. There are no additives or preservatives and the beer is not pasteurized. All beers are available in North Carolina, in specialty stores and better restaurants. ------------------------------------------------------------ Its true - In vegas you will not find good beer. Thats not to say we dont have it ![]() Budweiser, Coors, Miller, ... thats all garbage. Only girls and Dallas fans drink that piss water ![]() |

When people say American beer, people automatically think of Bud, Coors, etc. There's also hundreds of great micro crafted brews in America. Probably many more than in Canada, with all kinds of varying alcohol content. I'd put some of the best US Microbrews up against the best beers of the world.

Hmm I heard somewhere that, in the beggining, they wanted guys to drink beer so the bottles were shape so it looks like a boobie (when the beer bottles looked like bottles of syrup)... Then a few years later, now they wanted the girls to start on drinking so they shaped the bottle like.....well I let you guess...
Dunno if it's true tough... LOL

http://www.jekyllpub.com/pubbeer.html:
"Switzerland Samichlaus Dark Bier* (Strongest beer in the world ? 14%! Brewed only once per year on Dec. 6th, celebrating St. Nicolas. It?s long maturation and high alcohol content make for a surprising firmness and brandyish finish." ***** I used to study alcoholic beverages as a hobby, and at that time Carlsberg Elephant was the strongest beer in general distribution. Now Carlsberg Elephant is brewed in Canada, I think, and the last time I had it, it still tasted pretty good. The trouble is, the more alcoholic a beer becomes the less like beer it seems. One of the things about regular beer that makes it different from wine and distilled beverages is that there is little enough alcohol that you can't taste it. People who want to split hairs may claim that beers of this strength are really "malt liquor," but since this term literally means "a liquid made from malt," it's still beer. Actually, in a sense, Saki is a kind of beer instead of a wine, since beers are made from grains and wines are made from fruit, as a shorthand definition.

I make my own beer and have got it down to the perfect brew (My perfect brew) and I can add as much malt and sugar as I like to make it however strong I want it. Doesnt matter where the beer is made! You act like your high altitude up in those big canadian mountains has something to do with how strong your beers are!
