Overcharging the paying customers with a bunch of hidden pre-checked cross sales that they never even saw is going to hurt the industry even more than a tube site will because now you've just alienated someone who was willing to pay rather than someone who was already looking for free stuff.
Legal or not, visa regs or not... you've (rhetorical 'you') just lost that customer for yourself, and for the rest of us.
