Help with blue screen / safe mode please
Hi when I boot up my computer is going to either the blue screen (XP) or to the safe mode screen. When I select start with safe mode it does nothing but fill the screen with lines of something and if I select last know good config it just goes to the XP page and freezes up
I have 3 hard drives in this computer C, E and F - I just run the OS off the C a Raptor . I'm trying to find my XP CD but cannot , if I format C with another XP is this a problem for E and F since they were all formated with one cd? I'm not sure what to do. thanks |

If E and F are 2 physical drives all you have to do to makes sure you don't fuck them is to unplug their cables and then Format C.... if they are 2 partitions of one drive then G-d help you......
BTW.... that was precisely why I moved to Vista .... that was the one and only reason.....

What does it say on the blue screen? usually there is an error message. I'd troubleshoot that before formatting.

As said, unplug the drives that ere not you OS drive, as well as all peripherials ( scaners, printers, usb hub ).
Boot up with the minimum : mouse.keyboard, screen . See what that gives, if it boots up, then you need to fing what accessorie is causing the freeze.
