I think Eminem is majorly talented but I think I would be hard pressed to pick the best rapper. I like different styles for what each offers.

Its out of Eminem, JayZ, Nas at this time. Eminem & Jaz has crossed over into super star where Nas is more street level in a way. The whole point of ANY artist is to get his songs to the most ears and Eminem does that more than NAS. I like weezy and all but he doesnt come close to either despite pushing more albums. People hate Eminem because he is white but he has more skills than ANY one out other than NAS and Jay Z.

That's true, but some of the artists are very popular in the underground scene, yet their clips are never on MTV.

I can't blame MTV though... why? Real hip hop is too brutal or serious. You see, nowadays people only want to hear a nice tune. If it has a message, that's a bonus... but as long as it has a nice tune. Generally people want to hear stupid stuff like 50 Cent, Lil Scrappy, Jeezy, Joc, Ying Yang Twins or whatever their fucking names are. Songs where people only moan and brabble bullshit, or rap about thug life bs. That kind of music is more appropriate in clubs for chicks to get wasted and shake their booties on.

i totally agree, cage is an amazing rapper and i would have to say i have and like every one of his albums. the problem with most of these guys is that when a shitty underground rapper comes out and all he has going for him is multi syllable rhymes and a lot of good punch lines they will worship the ground he walks on, and theres way too much more than that to be a talented musician.
