While I wouldn't plan or schedule what rides you want to do and when, you really do have to plan ahead and make reservations for your meals...which they let people do 180 days in advance. So you might want to get to that soon if you are going the meal plan route (which we won't ever go without from this point). |
When I used to go as a kid we would bring my grandmother because she was in a wheelchair and that meant we could cut the line...dont know how that would work with just you and your girl though :)

Plus she recommended just hitting a water park if it was that lame at one. As for the dining plan,.. do you have to make reservations just because you have the plan? Or should you do them anyways? I mean, what if I wanna just pay the extra money, and hit the sit down restaurants. Do I still have to call ahead? |

Here's my down and dirty one day disney guide for seeing the best stuff and not feeling like you missed out. Show up at Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning when the park opens and go DIRECTLY to the back to the safari ride (dont stop for shit) you should be one of the firsts in line, you'll get to see all the animals before it gets hotter and all the animals go hide. When it's over go back up right outside to the Lion Kind show, it's pretty good. Then leave the park and hop a bus to Epcot. Lines should be small hit up test track and the couple rides there then go to the world pavilion and eat some food, drink some beer and hangout, it's lots of fun and my favorite place. Hop the Tram then to Magic Kingdom and finish the day out there, walk down main street, do the haunted house, small world, house of presidents, jungle cruise, you know the big ones.. that'll take the rest of the day. Eat a turkey leg in frontier land. Skip MGM, now known as Hollywood HUGE waste of time unless you really need to do something there. |
Nope, you don't have to make reservations just because you have the plan.
How it works is you get one snack, one counter service meal and one sit down meal...each day. The sit down meals (buffets, lunch with mickey, restaurants) mostly need reservations...but they do all take walk ins. You just might have to wait. The counter service meals are the standard cafeteria type burger, salads and fries type setup. Those you just walk up to and order. All the meals are deducted from your "ticket". It's really a nice addition to the package. We ate like kings and are already planning on where to eat next year. |

it all depends on how long you'll be there and how weather holds up... If say the day you choose animal kingdom it rains then there is seriously NOTHING. Also something to look at is open/closing times. If I remember right Animal Kingdom closed at like 4PM (was there In like February) Magic Kingdom was open late so if the place you spend your day at closes earlier you can hop over to a later place.
When I went I drove down... Last time I was down there it was during the summer so I only hit a water park (didn't have kids with me that time) Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom are really the best two. I liked Animal Kingdom more than busch gardens (got DRUNK on free beer there though) I might hit the busch gardens in Virginia or wherever it is on my way to North Carolina this summer sometime. |

In all the times the GF has been there. They have never done the dining plan either. But she had me look it up for her to present to her family for the Feb trip. I think they are going to end up doing it that way for their first time. Just because it's the WHOLE family. Granny, parents, bros and sis, her kids, their kids, and so on. I can only IMAGINE the hate one would feel being behind them in line. Tee hee. |

From the shows on Travel Channel, their DVD, and the stories. Sounds like so much to do. Also you will have to have MAD LOOT like fawked up. |

Other trips down I've gone to sea world, busch gardens and other oddball parks but Disney really is the only must go to place... If you suggest a place with roller coasters just remember SANDUSKY ohio isn't all that far away from us. Cedar Point is the ONLY place for roller coasters. The thrill rides at places like disney world are a SNOOZE compared to any of the top 5 coasters at cedar point. Aerosmith coaster is a weak ride but totally worth going in. Its in the dark and goes upside down but doesn't jerk you at all and isn't all that fast. That big mountain one at ANimal Kingdom was cool too... Goes backwards so it was interesting. Space Mountain is very lame but sorta essential. |

I was just in Disneyworld this past July....You need to commit at least one day to each park....I've only been to Magic Kingdom and Epcot and I tried to do it in a day and failed.....
I fucking LOVED Disneyworld... |

Hollywood studios isn't a waste of time. Don't listen to him. :1orglaugh The new Toy Story ride alone was worth the price of admission. But then again, we're Disney freaks. FastPass is limited. I am pretty sure it's by time. You're able to get one FastPass every 2 or so hours. And because it's Disney, I don't think anyone expects the rides to be like the coasters at Cedar Point. The rides are just there to keep you occupied while the shuffle you from store to store. At least that's the joke that I like to make. |

WAY in the back of Magic Kingdom is a wooden coaster that is NOT a kiddie coaster but has a smaller height requirement that my son was clearly under but slid through and he road it 5 times with his hands in the air the entire time. I kept a hand on him just because I'm kinda fat and the bar was way up off of him. Of course this is the same kid who didn't even have the slightest bit of fear on his face for the tower of terror pic ;) The only scary part of that was the dark closed in cramped rooms... |

MGM though is the kind of place where you either love it or hate it... WHen you walk in they have all kinds of street performers and other things like that. It has an insane amount of stores and it is heavily based on "shows" If you like going and watching shows it is THE place to go. Personally cheesy shows are NOT for me. Cedar Point to me though is the ultimate place to "vacation" and if you're not a coaster person what they call coasters at disney world WILL be fun for you. Space mountain is really quite slow and is about on par with a kiddy coaster at cedar point. The aerosmith one is quite cool... If you like that corkscrew at Michigan Adventure its the same think only in the dark basically. |
DO eat shrooms before you go in. It will help you make it through the day.
DONT take pics with your balls hanging out with the Disney people. The kids dont like it. |

When are you going ? I'm planning to go on January. This would be my second time. You'll love it. I went with my sister and cousin and had a blast. Oh... and I lost my virginity there.... |
the superbowl sunday thing is an awesome idea
|

The rides there are too fucking short though! They need to let you do like 5 times around the track or something. Fuckin in the line longer than the ride. :disgust |
