Did Kimbo really get paid $500,000.00 to go down like a little bitch???

No wonder he went down and stayed down after the first punch.

I lost all my respect for EliteXC

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/...7287&zoneid=13

Chumps are paid way to much for NOT putting on a good show

At least it wasn't a PPV. Thought I really don't think they'd get that many PPV buys for a Kimbo headlining fight.

Kimbo was worth a lot more to them if he won the fight, because he was their rating draw against big name guys who people recognize.

Now that he lost to a no name guy, he's not nearly a draw and it hurts their entire card.

Kimbo was exposed fighting someone trained. His online fights were against overweight out of shape guys.

Maybe Kimbo is smarter than he looks and just doesn't want to fight anymore. He took his half million and just fell to the mat.

Yeah you would think the winner gets a big cut. I think Seth only got 50k or something like that. With Kimbo it should've been something like 250k to show up and 250k+ to the winner.

Actually Elite XC will be fine, but ProElite is fucked. Showtime will own Elite XC by next year when the fail to repay the loan that they took to keep the org afloat.

He got $500k for fighting -win or lose. He would have received another $100k if he had won.

Yep, I agree 100%. He was fighting guys that wouldn't otherwise make a card. Even Shamrock is way over the hill. But Kimbo was a name "Joe Six-Pack" could recognize so he filled seats.

On October 4, 2008, at EliteXC: Heat, he defeated Kimbo Slice in 14 seconds by TKO. He was offered the fight as a stand-in after Ken Shamrock received a cut over his left eye in pre-fight practice and was forced to back out
So was Shamrock supposed to lose?

I don't get what you're saying. He could have won $100,000 + other bonuses if he could get up and continue fighting and win. Doesn't sound like anybody would stay down with that + the possibility of future fights bringing in this amount of cash.

i think alot of people underestimate what a well placed punch can do when the victim isn't expecting it. Kimbo didn't see the punch coming , he was caught "unawares". I wouldnt quite call it a "lucky" punch , just perhaps how it landed. I think if you recreated the scenario 100 times you would never get a result like that
