While I appreciate the thoughts behind the outpouring here I'd like to inject a bit of reality into the situation here.

In THIS country there are many many children who are in a worse situation than that dog.

There are adults as well, now if they landed that way as a result of their own decisions I have no sympathy, but many do not. I had spinal surgery about a year and a half ago and as lucky as I was to have pretty decent insurance it still cost me a LOT of money, I mean a lot....I'm still paying the bills.

Had I not had insurance and resources to pay I'd currently be in worse shape than that dog.

My point here, is don't lose track of the reality that in the long run, people are more important than animals, specially children. Don't forget them when you get all misty over an emaciated canine.

Who says she has lost track of reality? Because she wants to save a dog she somehow doesnt care about starving children? Shouldnt it be her choice on what she devotes her time and resources to without having someone come preach about how other causes are more important? Wouldnt the money that was spent on your surgury have better been served saving possibly hundreds of orphaned hungry children in Africa? Afterall you have a few more years left and those children have their entire future ahead of them...right?

I had major back surgery 3 months ago that cost $250k. That was just one of many surgeries. I can take care of myself. I know there are horrible things that happen all over the world. I can't save everyone and everything. If I come on here and say I am saving cancer, someone would bitch that aids is better. If I come on here and say I am saving the homeless, someone would say children are better. Instead of bitching about someone helping one situation why don't you get off your ass and try to help the cause you feel is important!

No hard feelings though, just don't say I am losing track of reality. I am planning on having a child in about 3 to 4 years and when I do, I am adopting a child as well. So I can do many things at once. I have always done that and I always will. :thumbsup

I agree with your post in everything,

I love dogs as well.. but at the same rate "you can't stop crying over this" and "donations" is a little askew imho.

I watch Animal Planet a lot with the shoes of Animal Police in different cities. It is crazy what some people do to dogs. I've got one and she is definitely part of the family

Tears of joy and appreciation for what my boss did, makes you a little askew? You have never heard of anyone having tears of joy before? And yes I do cry when I see animals being abused. It hurts me. Is that okay? I am not a big wimp, ask anyone who knows me, I am a tough bitch, but there are certain things in this world that make me so mad I sometimes cry. Anything defenseless and being hurt makes me upset. It?s not like I am curling up in a ball in the corner crying, I get tears in my eyes and a few roll down my face. When I first saw this dog, I cried with several tears, but they were tears of sadness, anger, and motivation. I am a person who likes to get off my ass and do something when I can.

I don?t know if anyone remembers this or not, but there was a bitch who was walking out of a Target with her cute little girl and when she put the little girl in her car seat she just smack the shit out of her about 4 or 5 times, a smack that would have hurt a grown human. I fucking cried right there. I cried out of anger and pain for that little girl. If I saw that, you would have to pull me off that bitch! When I see an animal who gets hurt I cry too. My Daddy always told me the way a person treats children and animals will tell you what kind of person they are.

What I don?t get is how feeling for animals somehow means a person doesn?t feel for people. I remember this standup comic making a joke about how he and his wife go insane with love over their pet. He said if you don?t feel totally retarded in love with your pet then you are nowhere near ready to give the amount of love needed for a child. For those who do not understand what he means, he is not saying the love is the same, he is saying that you won?t be able to handle the amount of love it takes to raise a child, meaning it takes more love. Just thought I would clarify that before someone says something stupid on that comment.

Also I am not directing this whole post towards you, I am just making a point about other comments, and to people who have jumped on me in threads like this that I have made in the past. I know you love dogs and I know you are not trying to be an ass, so please do not take my post as being an ass to you. :)

Oh I can't watch those shows. I get so upset. Every now and again I catch parts of one because I watch Animal Planet too, and these people left these two beautiful Doberman Pinscher puppies in that back yard with no food and water. One of the puppies was dead and stiff as a board. The other one survived but the owners had cut his ears to stand up and since he was left alone outside the ears became infected.

If I was that cop, knowing where those people live, I would stalk them and make their lives a living hell. I can't handle it. I get way to emotional and way to angry. Some people shouldn't live, and the sad thing about it is most of them have kids. You can only imagine how neglected those kids are too.

That is what burns me so much, that dog gave nothing but love and loyalty even when she was being treated that way. The lady said she barely eats and when they give her anything, and they try everything, when she eats it she gives them soft kisses because she is so weak. That is her way of saying thank you. That breaks my heart. I can't see how anyone can hurt something that just wants to love and protect you. OH I get so mad.

But now she will have love and a home. I am not only going to help her get better but I am also going to hunt to find her the perfect home. I won't give up until the mission is complete. I know I can't save all the animals. That?s impossible, but the ones that come into my life, I will do everything I can to help! :thumbsup

Please keep us informed of how she is doing. I think it is great that you care about her and are raising money to help take care of her medical needs. I wish more people did that. I have fostered several dogs that have been all been from hellish conditions. To watch them change over the months and then see them go to great homes is so wonderful. You have a great heart and are very caring. It is so nice to see that, sometimes it seems the world is so cold.

You got it hun! I will post updates on her until she is adopted. :thumbsup

And thank you for being a foster Mommie. I would love to do that, but now I have two German Shepherds and the male doesn't like other dogs so it's hard for me to do that. But I will keep donating time and money. I also transport dogs to other shelters all the time. So I do what I can to help. You are a good person for helping out! :)

OK, I already have the ring, is a 2 carat solitaire good enough?

I'm sure you would look real beautiful in a thong laying out by our pool full of dogs and cats.

We can have a big kennel out in the back 40.

With hi tec self cleaning pens and big green fields for them to run and be happy.

Maybe even start our own TV show and put Cesar Milan out of business :-)

Of course all this depends on if Ricky and Lucy accept you. I'm sure they will though. :upsidedow

Loryn, bless you and your kind heart! I love animals and I really hope that this animal gets healthy and adopted to a wonderful home! Dogs are so beautiful and kind hearted, rarely are there dogs that are just plain mean. And if they are, it's a result of their owners and abuse 9 times out of 10.

I am sorry for the dog, but honestly when there are humans in this world (and not 1 or 2) in the same position I kind of feel a bit odd really caring. Imaging being that kid with your ribs showing and seeing some "animal rights" moron campaigning for a DOG, placing a DOG on a higher level of importance than you. I mean you eat fucking cows, chickens, duck, lamb, etc etc and don't even blink about them being killed. Put a bullet in the dogs head and direct your good intention toward a human.

we all do that with our tax money
i gave irs 60k last year
it's not my fault they spent it on the wrong things

animals don't get food stamps and most animal shelters are funded by the private sector :2 cents:

Why would you feel odd caring about an abused dog? You can care about animals and humans both, you do not have to pick one or the other. Just because people choose to give money to animal causes does not mean they also do not donate to homeless shelters or food banks. I know I donate to both and I am sure other people on here do too.

Ross 10-04-2008 01:44 AM

I'd rather send money to Loryn for this than to any of the other idiots I've donated money to before only to have them run off with it. Loryn please make another thread when you have epass set up and I'll send some money. I love my dog more than I can say, some people just don't get what it is about dogs that make them so special.

When I wake up in the morning my dog is there all happy and wanting to play. If he's bad and I need to put him to bed to teach im a lesson or yell at him... 5 mins later he's happy with me if I want to play with him. He never gets pissy with me, never disobeys me (apart from some silly things) and guarenteed he always puts a smile on my face no matter how bad a day I'm having. That is priceless!

Thank you very much. I will for sure post my epass when it is up and send it you. Ina will be very happy and like I said I will post updates on her and I am not stopping at just making her healthy, I am going to make sure she finds her new family as well. Together we will make her life worth living and one day when a family is looking at their beautiful Ina they will know that someone out there, meaning us, helped her so they could the love of a loyal dog. (Family member) Oh damn here I go with tears again.

I will post my epass plus send it privately to everyone who requested epass.

Keeping fighting Ina, I'm coming. Well I should say we're coming, I am just standing in for all of us!!! :)

You hit the nail on the head with that comment. Dogs are not naturally mean, they are taught that by humans, or treated in a way that causes them to become aggressive. I have read several books about dog packs and dogs in packs never hurt each other, they teach each other and compete for alpha dog but they understand that they are a pack and they understand that if one of them does not do their part they could all die.

The sad thing with Ina is she is not aggressive or an alpha dog, so when she was abused she took it and took it and took it because in dog psychology her owner was the alpha of her pack and what he did she followed because her instincts tell her that is how she survives. This is why I get so pissed at people who hurt these animals. Anyone who can look at an animal or child and see them follow them, look up to them, and want their love and all they do it kick it, hurt it, and starve it, they are a psycho path. They are a person with nothing inside them and nothing to offer society but pain, and money to clean up their mess or support them in jail. FUCKERS SHOULD BE SHOT!

Okay okay I am off that I will get all upset right now. This thread is about helping Ina so if anyone wants to donate to help her my paypal is:

Paypal: [email protected]

This thread is also about people doing what they can in their neighborhoods to help animals and children who are defenseless from any assholes around them. Like JaneB just said people can do many things at once. I donate to animals, I rescued two adult German Shepherds, two kitties, and I have saved a bearded dragon, two litters of kittens and the mother, and a bird that drives Baddog nuts. Plus after my first born child, (3 to 4 years from now) I am adopting an AMERICAN toddler who is unwanted. I am also looking into being a big sister to a little girl in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas. I didn't want to mention that because I don't like to jinks things until I know for sure it can happen, but when I find out more I will for sure let you know and post pictures. Well I will have to think about that one, posting pictures that is. haha

Anyway fight for Ina, any amount is not too small. Like I said in my original post $20 here and $20 there all adds up. $20 for 20 people is $400. Poor Ina is so starved they have to feed her anything and everything just to get her insides working again. I know there are more proper words but when I write them out it just reminds me of how sick her little body is.

If you don't like people helping abused dogs, then there are 100 threads on the first page of GFY where you can go and bitch about other things in the world you hate or don't understand. It's called Go Fuck Yourself so Go Fuck Yourself and find something else to hate on. Hating on things is so fucking easy, it's getting off your ass and helping things that is hard. Being a hater is not hard work, but we do need them, just ask Kat Williams, he says it best!!!

Good Luck to ya, and no hard feelings. I know I wouldn't be doin' it right if I didn't have a hater around!!! :321GFY (another Kat Williams quote)
