I understand that people will only ever think their candidate won, and no matter what Palin said .. if you have already decided to vote Democrat you will find some fault somewhere. I don't really like either of them though Biden didn't really say much apart from pointing out McCain's voting record on this or that, and taking potshots at Bush. Even though he really was quite a let down in the debate, I think he would have made a much much better candidate than Obama! Obama has that "I am better than you" factor .. kinda like the goody goody manufactured cheap plastic feel, though Biden seems like a real person, someone with flaws but someone real who you can trust and identify with.

She never answered ANY of the questions.... she would just skip past them, and start into one of her talking points. Drove me crazy that Biden and the moderator wouldn't call her on it like Katie did. BUT, since they didn't corner her she didn't look like the drooling idiot that she did in her interviews this last week..... Just an uneducated mouth piece for the right. I'd still fuck her, but vote for her? LOL G's up Hoes down!

They both pretty much just rode it out and hoped they didn't mess up too badly. You know she was trying to make sure she had a place to say that 'say it ain't so Joe' line which was just lame. In fact, the main thing I would say about her is that I could see her working through the bullet points in her head rather than actually listening to the question.

If you really want to know who won, it's Biden. The senior analysts all give their grades which means nothing, but then there is a user poll. As a whole Biden was graded a B, Palin a D, and i dont think CNN is really that partisan.
Now for my own personal opinion (I'm an independent supporting Biden & Obama): Palin sounded naive and corny, Biden attacked McCain with substance - and then at certain points asked Palin to respond to his criticism and she really couldn't. When Palin attacked, Biden rebuffed really well and pointed out the shallowness of her arguments and then struck back by tying it back in with McCain point out her hypocrisy. He smiled at her a lot making him seem more likeable, and on key issues, they agreed, like gay marriage which is going to win over some conservatives imo - in some issues he agreed with her, and turned it against McCain, that hurts lol. He knew where to keep his stances similar, and where to separate them and then attack. He was articulate, spoke efficiently, he was very good, and the ultimate bridge to nowhere comment made the whole audience laugh which is impressive. Substance wise it was a bear slaughtering a puppy, but personality wise, he had the personality of a puppy himself. I thought he did fantastic, she did ok, probably than where I had her, but she was still pretty poor and really didn't know all that much with miselading attacks - she knew the very basics but not enough and was clearly outmatched. Only thing I liked was her comments on small business tax being bad, but then Biden responded with 95% of small business owners make 250k or less and go unaffected, maybe im biased cause my taxes will go up lol. When clinton said obama will win this and not by a little, i dont think it was a fed line. I think people got caught up in the hype of the convention, McCain gave back all the momentum, which is exactly what happened to Obama and now has his lead probably as high as its ever been, and i think it will even go higher. oh yeah, is it me or does all the "you betcha" and corny/cheesy comments make you nauszeous, i cant believe we have a world leader talking like that, its incredibly naive and unprofessional.. imagine if someone spoke like that in your office. :2cents |
Biden accused McCain for being responsible for the deregulation of Wall street and the financial mess, then she skipped to respond 2 times and instead started talking about taxes.
She got owned. |

One of the thing that bothers me about all the candidates is the term "Joe 6-pack". It just comes across as a degrading term to stereotype everyone. As if everyone but them are simpletons that just sit around drinking beer all the time. That none of us have real issues or real ideas.
I think both candidates do it and I heard it a few times at the debate. Just annoys the fuck out of me. Show some fucking respect. |

She manage to dodge just about all questions. Imagine if McCain takes office and send her to Russia. They'll eat her alive and none of the leaders will have any kind of respect for her. A Winking VP?

Biden had lots to say while Palin repeated talking points. He outlined the differences in his position on the war. In McCain's worldview America was going to win in Iraq in a week. In Biden's worldview America would not be greeted as saviors by Iraqis and years of instability would ensue along with billions of dollars. In McCain's worldview, Afghanistan could be virtually ignored. In Biden's worldview, most of our efforts should have been in Afghanistan. He points out that we spend more money in Iraq in three weeks than we have in the entire 6.5 years we've been in Afghanistan (this is the country that is home to the 9/11 terrorists and Bin Laden). He outlined the need to support Democracy in volatile places like Pakistan to avoid further problems. In Biden's view, repeating the tax plan that was a success in Alaska under Palin, is the approach to take nationally, while McCain's plan is opposite to Palin's own record on taxes but she has to support it. In Biden's view regulation rather than deregulation is key in Wall Street as is alternative energy which McCain's record is sparse on. Biden was much sharper in the debate. You could feel comfortable with him giving sound advice to Obama and taking the helm if something happened to Obama. There was no similar feeling of worldliness or understanding eminating Palin. |

The guy never even mentioned Obama, much less thinking that he'd solve anything. Yet look at you all over yourself. You debate like Palin did. No wonder you think she did well. |

Totally scripted, she was mostly just repeating all the buzzlines shes been repeating since she got on the ticket. I wasn't impressed.

I have to remember that you like to kid around a lot.

The difference between this debate and the interview is she had more practice at matching memorized rhetoric answers to questions. Its quite clear she memorized rhetoric, ignored questions and spouted off scripted answers that had been drilled into her head to best match the questions.

Its funny how some can only smash my weight and nothing more. The idiots that can only do that do not deserve indivisual responses.

Lets see now, since all of FoxNews claims she won, if she is going to do more interviews and just "let Sarah be Sarah". THAT will be fun....

By the way, who thinks Dion sucked last night, although Harper was on the offensive a little more than in Wednesdays and May reallly picked it up from her poor first performance. Oh, sorry eh, there was a Leaders Debate for the elections in Canada on the 14th of October... ok, I'l just stop there...

The only people that are saying Palin won must be making that judgement with their cocks.

You know whats funny, if Palin had done that little almost crying thing that Biden did, it would have been all over every newspaper and every news program for days as the #1 story, though since it was Biden not a mention anywhere. I think the media has worked out that people tend to flock to the news programs/publications that give them the news they want to hear. Seems objective and balanced reporting is bad for business and a thing of the past.
