WIFI signal booster?
I would like to start working in the garden, but it's too far away from the WIFI transmitter to work.Is there such a thing as a booster that could be placed half way that would recieve the signal and 'resend' it? Thanks for your help... |

you could bounce it off.. spend like $200 and get a desktop/laptop.. place it nicely between your router and ur main laptop and let ur main laptop grab internet from the desktop..
so ROUTER>>>>>>CHEAP PC>>>>MAIN PC/LAPTOP

Maybe you could try upgrading to wireless N if you can't find a booster. They claim it has better range, I got it set up here, but never experimented with range yet.

Even one of the crappy WRT54G v8.x (really awful - super low RAM and Flash), with DD-WRT v24 micro makes a fine repeater.. for about $50.
