Why are GOP so scared of Same Day Voting and Having Observers?

In a huge swing state like Ohio for that matter? Im interested in hearing some thoughts on this.

It could be a big boost for Obama. I was reading during the last presidential election that newly registered voters tend to vote for the challenger 2 to 1. I guess the idea is that if they are happy with how things are they don't vote. If they aren't happy the register and vote against it. Obama is more the challenger here because the republicans hold the white house now. I think they are afraid Obama will send an army of people to the black and democrat heavy areas to register people and get them out to vote right then so they don't have to worry about turnout on election day. The more people that turn out the worse off it is for the republicans. Carl Rove famously said the republican strategy was to pander to the base, appeal as much as possible to the middle and hope for a low turnout because they know their base will show up and a low turnout means the democrat's base stayed home and hit the bong.

A high voter turnout = more votes for Obama, no doubt!

Same reason the GOP was so upset about the Motor-Voter bill a while back.

They want less turnout, they want less people to register, and they want registration to be a pain in the ass.

If all US citizens 18 and older HAD to vote, the Dems would win by a landslide!

McCain may be a war hero, but even the troops have contributed 6 times as much to the Obama campaign, than to the McSame folks.
