Cortisone shots suck

I've been having some trouble with the joints of two fingers on my left hand. Went into an orthopedic doc today to confirm what I thought. I have trigger finger in the index and middle fingers on my left hand. He injected cortisone in the tendons of those two fingers in the palm of my hand. Now half my left hand is numb all the way out to the tips of my fingers. Makes it real fun to work. He says today it will be numb.. tomorrow it'll hurt like hell.

Fun.

I'm super sorry to hear that. Hopefully tomorrow won't be as bad as you think.

The tissues that hold the tendon in place may thicken, causing the opening of the tunnel to become smaller. As a result, the tendon becomes momentarily stuck at the mouth of the tunnel as the finger is extended. A pop may be felt as the tendon slips past the tight area. This why pain and catching may be felt as the finger is moved. "

I just had an Cortisone injection into my shoulder a week ago. I over trained and my tendon started rubbing against the joint. The doc numbed the whole shoulder with cold air and suggested I don't look at the needle cause it was ridiculously huge. Anyways, after about 1/2 day of numbness and a week off from swimming the clicking is gone and I am totally ready for my triathlon this coming Sunday. The procedure is worth it!

I hope I never have to get one of those. I've heard from others as well that they are pretty painful

I'm back at the gym recently and everything is fine. But, when I do regular push-ups I have this weird clicking sound(sometimes) in my elbow joints. I Also get weird grinding/tearing noises in my knees my whole life.

LoL!!

I'm trying to get an update done and only have use of my pinkie and ring finger on my left hand. Cut and Paste is loads of fun and I won't tell you how many times I've backspaced and fixed typos on this post. I'm normally really fast on da keyboard.

Bleck.. doc didn't bother to tell me about steriod flash ....swelling and numbness of the tendons after the shot. I guess it lasts anywhere from 24 - 48 hours. Most of my left hand is useless today. Fun for working on a keyboard. At least I'm right handed and it's not my mouse hand that's numb.
