The Man who would be king. Awesome Classic Adventure with Michael Kane and Sean Connery

The Thin Man. Classic murder mystery/comedy where the leading couple stay's drunk pretty much the entire film. Great writing, very witty.

Autumn Spring (Czeck) Sweet movie about an old couple, she is preparing to die, and he is a conniving bon vivant.

Kolya (Ukrainian) Touching film about a Russian bachelor who is saddled with a young boy.

Nobody Knows (Japanese) Bizarre movie about young kids abandoned by their mother in a small apartment and left to fend for themselves

Le Diner du con (French) Hilarious film about a club of intellectuals who gather every month to bring the biggest idiot to dinner with them.

Goya's Ghost. Great twisted film following Goya during the time of the Spanish inquisition with Natalie Portman and Javier Bardem (star from "No Country for Old Men").

Ok, actually Kolya is a Ukranian Bachelor is saddled with a Russian Kid.... It'll make sense when you watch it.

Pride & Prejudice (2005)

For the ladies in your family. Maybe some of you have seen it, but I had never heard of it.
I was on the edge of my seat, romance is usually boring. A popular book I hear.

Def. on my top 10 list.

Just got done watching - DOWNFALL.

Fucking phenomenal.

This is becoming one of the best movie threads I have ever seen

Keep em' coming people.

For those who didn't see The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford, I really do suggest you give it a chance (I didn't want to either).

It was Andrew Dominik's second movie after CHOPPER with Eric Bana and Roger Deacons shot the cinematography (shoots all the coen brother movies) and Sam Rockwell was in it.. Fucking shocking how good it was in my opinion, don't miss it even if you hate brad pitt like me.

It was good, but it could have easily been 90 minutes shorter without losing even a touch of the feel they were going for.

The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford was a tedious movie to watch.

For the horror fans:
Dog Soldiers
Ginger Snaps
Sunshine (more sci-fi thriller)
Hard Candy

A really good period piece: The Prestige

Better than the Matrix? Are you smoking crack or meth? Although on the box they compare the two, in reality that comparison is akin to discussing the similarities between a turtle and a plane crash. The Matrix is groundbreaking in terms of direction and cinematography while Equilibrium has a decent idea for a movie and that's about it in my opinion.

Trust me on this...

If you want to watch Battle Royale, read the book first. Don't let the thickness of it deture you. I know lots of people say the book is better, etc. It gets annoying even though it is the truth most of the time. This movie is no exception. The leave out so much and the book does a better time describing the event than the movie does. I'm sure if they made this today they could do a better job, but this version just doesn't do justice to such a fast paced and twisted story.

You are right. Come to think of it in the end I liked Matrix more beacuse of the cinematography as you said but the ideea was more plausable for Equilibrium... anyway...
What did you think of the rest?

What did you think of the rest?
I liked the ideas in the movie I just think they spent too much time worrying about the action and neglected the rest of the movie and for that it really suffered. Parts were really slow and relied much too heavily on the story to drive it. I think they needed to make the choice between an action movie or something with substance. Somehow the Matrix bridged this gap but that probably has to do with the fact that the Matrix probably had the budget and minds to see that through while the makers of Equilibrium did not but thought they'd defy the odds. Despite all this, I think it was still a decent movie, just not on the same level as the Matrix, but then again that is a pretty high standard to try to achieve (which is proven by the epic failures that were the second and third instalments of the Matrix).

The largest difference between The Matrix and Equilibrium was BUDGET.

Don't forget that, has much to do about everything.
