Just remember "my friends" we have to transport, store, pay for at both the state/fed level and deal with legal fights of the people that don't want it, and take the risk of the already the half shut down from leaking. And I'm surprised Obama didn't bring up how long they take to build, how much they cost, and how long it takes for the people to earn a return on the tax investment.
I wish I could debate these two guys. It would be so easy.
hell yeah... you realize that we'd all be paying at tops like 15 bucks a month for as much power as we needed... that would be great... bring it
Or you could get Solar since you live in Vegas. So over the next 5 years you would pay the same amount you do now, until you pay $0 and maybe even get a buy back/credit from the electric company. Or pay $15 a month + tax to dispose of the waste in that giant toxic dump just around the corner from ya.
It will take longer to build the Nuc plant, and solar is a way better solution for 40% of America.
Many many solutions better than building Nuc plants when half are already empty and not being inspected for safety and the ones that are active aren't safe from terrorist attacks.

Yeah, my brain cracked as soon as I heard "45 nuclear plants" so I never got to the
point to even think about those obvious problems.

until they get solor panels down cheap majority of americans won't use em
im not arguing your idea or point.. I agree with it.. Ive been talking solar to my buddies for a while now.. I know a few people with backspin on the meter it's a trip to see...
thats ideal.. and will make the tree huggers happy.. only problem is tree huggers don't have 20k lying around for a good solar system..
now an idea would be to have the gov supply solar unit's to everyone rather than EBT to crack heads...
To help consumers with the DTV transition, the Government established the Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Coupon Program. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), a part of the Department of Commerce, administers this program. Every U.S. household is eligible to receive up to two coupons, worth $40 each, toward the purchase of eligible digital-to-analog converter boxes. Beginning in January of 2008, the NTIA has begun accepting applications for coupons. The coupons may only be used for eligible converter boxes sold at participating consumer electronics retailers, and the coupons must be used at the time of purchase. (Please note that these coupons will expire 90 days after mailing). Manufacturers estimate that digital-to-analog converter boxes will sell from $40 to $70 each. This is a one-time cost. For more information on the Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Coupon Program, visit www.dtv2009.gov, or call 1-888-388-2009 (voice) or 1-877-530-2634 (TTY).
