Also, I think the main reason people are attacking Palin for her lack of experience is that McCain is old and has had cancer 4 times. He, more than any first time candidate in recent history, is a threat to die in office so the qualifications of his VP should be looked at closely.

Yes, and on that note, lets look at the fact that Obama is a heavy smoker and can't quit. That is a direct risk to his health. And Biden has had multiple aneurysms - meaning, potentially, Obama could get cancer and Biden have an aneurysm - then Pelosi takes over.

But this goes back to why I posted in this thread in the first place... its nice to trash the other side, but if your not at least honest enough to accept and admit your side has the same if not bigger issues, then you are simply a partisan hack with no intellectual honesty.

You really think that has the same likelihood of happening as a 72 year old recurring cancer survivor dying within an 8 year term? I do not think that is anywhere near being the same, if not a bigger issue. I also do not see it as intellectual dishonesty.

Why? Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Just because his is stupid, doesn't mean he isn't allowed to have and state it.

But spewing idiotic horsecrap while on the clock is something I doubt they would appreciate.

You must be hef's brother or something because it is obvious you are an idiot:2 cents:

So since you are flying the sig while you spew this potential industry killing nonsense.... I guess its safe to assume that others at ICS / playboy agree with you

I agree with you that both sides have issues. On the health front, regardless of who you like or don't like or if you hate the both, you have to admit that the odds are McCain would be the one that would have health problems. Sure Obama could get cancer or have a sudden heart attack, anything could happen, but when you make a bet you pick the odds that best suit you and if you had to bet money between obama and McCain on who would have serious health problems first would you not pick the guy that is 72 and has already had cancer 4 times?

I do like Palin - quite a bit actually - but much like Obama - she is not ready for the job. 5 - 10 years, perhaps. I would never vote for Obama because he is a socialist - at least Clinton, understands that this is a Capitalist nation - even though she panders on social issues to what she thinks is her base.

Either way, I cannot vote for anyone who I believe is detrimental to the office they are running for. I dont care who they are.

This intrigues me. What about Palin do you like?

I like the fact that she has stood up to her own party. While she, like every other Politician has flopped on some issues - for the purposes of political expediency, has for the most part proven to be on the side of the people and more so than any other candidate in this race stood up for the people.

Ever since "Politician" bacame a profession in this country, everythign has gone to shit. Why is it, that LAWYERS are the butt of more jokes about their integrity and character - but totally revered as politicians?

If anyone in the 2008 presidential race is a 'Washington outsider' it's Palin. Personally, I think that's more of what the U.S. needs in Washington. I would have thought the same about Obama - until it was clear that he is just as tied to PAC's, lobbyists and special interest groups as every other prominent 'lifer' in the Congress.

Fair enough.

I personally think her flaws outweigh her strengths and I think she has proven that, under the correct circumstances, she would be a terrible leader, but that is just my opinion.

she stood up to no one and she has taken pork with both hands. She hired a lobbyist when she was mayor of bumpfuck alaska and left it 20 million in debt. Took 250 million for the bridge to nowhere when it became unpopular became against it but kept the money. Her state takes the most pork in the country.

Yes - that's probably true. But she will get her opportunity grow and learn. The only advantage she does have right now - is that she was an executive. She actually had to be held accountable for stuff. None of the other 3 have any experience at all in that arena.

Only 15 of our 43 presidents were Senators first. There is a reason for that. I guess we are about to get #16.

Not Voting= Shut The Fuck Up

Yo Adrian 09-26-2008 05:14 PM

Whiplash, your comments bewilder me as much as my neighbors do... who also likes Palin for a host of reasons that have NOTHING to do with her qualifications for VICE PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES.

It scares the shit out of me that she could be, as Cafferty put it "one 72 year old heartbeat away" from being our president.

"For a seventy-two-year-old cancer survivor to have placed Sarah Palin directly behind himself in line for the Presidency was an act of almost incomprehensible cynicism and irresponsibility." - one of countless quotes regarding her abilities.

McCain put our country in direct jeopardy by calling her up. He was desparate and did what he thought was best for HIM......... not for US.

True, I guess if the 8 years I served this country qualify me as not lifting a finger. And I fully intend to vote - I always do and always will. I'm just not voting for anyone running for President - since I am not going to have a hand in electing someone who is either unqualified or to old and possibly not all that sound.

Oh and... exactly why I couldn't ever bring myslef to vote for Obama. He has less experience that Palin. Only thing he has over her at this point - is three years worth of preperation to answer questions. But test preperation does not equal experience.

Do you even read posts before you reply to them?

I said "Kinda like the people..." If you want to lump yourself in that category, be my guest but I didn't put you there.

That being said, complaining about the candidates and bashing others for THEIR choices or beliefs while at the same time saying you aren't going to vote is ridiculous. If you don't have any investment then what is your point.

Oh but wait, now you say you fully intend to vote... Right?

Ron Paul.

Just kidding. I like taking my chances with someone who came from nothing (like myself), Was elected by CONSERVATIVES who said "we can trust him" to the highest position at a top Ivy League school. He did this while being half black, having a name that sounds like the biggest terrorist in world. He is LIGHT YEARS ahead of Mccain in the intelligence department. He will cross party lines and work with others to make our world more safe. He has allready proven his support of the middle/lower class which benefits us all. Mccain is a loose cannon who is a sepratist and thats dangerous in many experts opinions. Palin is a liability for her ignorance on every import aspect of how our country works. How about elected someone who wants to make sure your kids are never turned away from an emergency room. Fucking so many uneducated creatures running around this country that they actually vote against themselves in every way. Sad.
