Discussions about the bail out plan have been going on since last week.

At NO POINT has McCain been a part of those ongoing discussions. He may have called some of the Senators and talked by phone, but he has not been physically present for any of the "in house" discussion.

SUDDENLY, 2 days before the scheduled debate he suddenly HAS to get back to Washington D.C. to be a part of the face to face discussions. If this IS SO important to him..why the fuck didn't he suspend his campaign on DAY ONE of these discussions and get involved then?

Another potential reason is to save money. McCain has less money raised so pulling ads and cancelling the debates buys time and saves money that may be needed later.
