That movie scared the living shit out of me when I was 17 or so...I could not even finish watching it at the time.

Allright.. nobody is talking about the real thing here..

Rent "From Beyond" and "Re-Animator".

Stick with the true classics :thumbsup

Is it just me or has there been a shortage of good horror flicks lately? Are they just more scary when you're a kid?

You'd think that with the advancement of technology and all the cool special effects they are able to do they would come out with a decent one at least...

Angel Heart...not exactly a "scary" movie but it sure freaked me out.

Resident Evil was another recent purchase that was scary, modern with good effects. If ya like the game, I did. Dug the movie as well.

As well as the Canadian psycho thriller 'The Cube'

I was going to mention that too :)

the original Night Of The Living Dead still packs a punch too..

The Pool is also a damn good flick..a recent low budget slasher, but delivers the goods...

If you're watching with a group of friends, you need to set the atmosphere for a good scare....lights out of course, a no "wisecracks" rule, serve popcorn (NOT in your special bucket ;)) and have someone who's alerady seen the movie(s) be on standby for a couple "boos"

MagicksAntics 10-31-2002 01:02 PM

The HellRaiser flicks were pretty good...

decisions decisions...

check out "eXistenZ" by David Cronenberg

Video gamers movie for sure.

"Crash" was also another great movie by Cronenberg.

All about people who get off sexually on car crash victims and shit.

MagicksAntics 10-31-2002 01:41 PM

"The Omen" is an oldie but goodie....

amadman 10-31-2002 02:19 PM

Breakdown with Kurt Russel, that's a thriller I know...but I was very scared anyway.

If you're feeling festive, get Nightmare Before Christmas.

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives is a howler (spooky-stupid you know)

Phantasm kicked ass. The Tall Man was ahead of his time, especially with those little metal balls that drilled your brains out.
I'd avoid the Phantasm sequels though, total crapola.

theone 10-31-2002 03:58 PM

did anyone see burnt offerings besides me? Also very scary but not mentioned was The Omen and Damien The Omen 2.

freeadultcontent 10-31-2002 04:48 PM

Movies that kick ass,

Event horizon as named....

In the mouth of madness.

Gotta just love movies that are kinda lovecraft style.
