Camera recommendation please :)

I am looking for a digital camera which has a setting that allows me to take pictures sequentially without having to hit the button over and over. BUT also which allows me to change the time span between photos.

I had a 35mm camera that did this. I could set it to take a photo every 20 seconds for 10 photos for instance, then press the button once and it would stop after 10 photos.

Anything like this in the digital world? So far all I have found are ones that take 10 pictures in 10 seconds but I want bigger gaps between the photos.

You will need a regular SLR camera for that.
Start with Nikon D70s, its pretty good, I think it makes about 5 pictures per second. Canon does more than that.

Why do you need to take one every 10 seconds, or what ever. Take pictures when the are right so you get the perfect shot.

I presume it's so she can self-pose.

Couple of ideas...

1. Canon make a programmable timer which lets you select (independently) the delay before commencing the sequence, how many shots to fire off, the delay between each shot, and the duration (say if you were doing a long exposure). It's not cheap tho.

2. Another option could be an infrared remote. Canon also make this, and you can set their DSLRs to a 2 or 10 second timer, which should give you enough time to hide or drop the remote.

HTH

Most of the Canon "Powershot" line of cameras have a custom timer setting.

You can take up to 10 pictures spaced anywhere from 1-10, 15, 20 or 30 seconds apart.

Here's all of the Canon cameras -
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/

When you click on each camera and go down the list of specs, look for the following.

" Self-timer - 2 or 10 sec or custom"

(That spec is near the bottom, about 20 lines up from the last one.)

If you don't see "custom" in the Self Timer field then obviously that camera won't do what you want.

Because I am taking photos of myself. I have not been able to find a photographer who takes photos I like and does not charge more than I can afford.

I would keep looking then. You're going to get a better result with a photographer.

I would do it for a reasonable rate if I was near.

Just don't buy anything until next week. It's the biggest photo trade show, and all the new stuff will be released.
