The funny thing is is that no matter what you say, you are wrong.

People like me who actually learn this kind of stuff in school learn it the way it is, in reality. People like you guys (AdultCopyWriters & Co) guess and then refuse to admit that you're wrong.

Must suck when reality is so harsh to you that you have to construct your own reality to live in. I don't even care that you guys are writers, I have enough clients now and I wouldn't have room for anymore anyways, what I do care about is that you come here pretending to know ANYTHING about math or science and then refuse to admit it when you've been proved wrong, not proven wrong by me, but proven wrong by reality.

Ok, time's up!

A spacecraft would have to reach a speed of 93,000 miles per hour just to pull away from the sun's gravity. And it would take 80,000 years to reach Alpha Centauri if it could maintain that speed.

The answer is 94,175.0179 miles per hour.

mona 09-19-2008 12:56 PM

Depends where you are ---

94,175.017 mile/hour (mph) -- Escape Velocity if on Earth with respect to the Sun's gravity

1,381,308.16 mile/hour (mph) -- Escape Velocity if on Sun with respect to the Sun's gravity
