Just wondering what your thoughts are on where a blog of a bigger site should be.

blog.domain.com

or

domain.com/blog/

I am asking in terms of directory submission, link tradeability, etc, etc

Or does it really not matter?

I normally have blogs set up on own domains but its not practical in this case.

Some blog directories don't accept folders...

The sub domain is looked at as a diffrent domain. A sub folder is looked at as part of the domain.

I was mostly worried about how directories would accept it.

I am setting up the blogs for our new program.
