iPhone uses Mac OS. That means no free software.
While Windows Mobile offers a wide range of sources for software if you know what I'm saying. And besides, there is even no Skype for iPhone yet. WM already has it.
I have the HTC Touch, and am loving it... and it's not even the diamond nor the pro.
I got it primarily for the $7/month unlimited bandwidth that Bell offers it with. It truly kicks serious ass. Especially when you start surfing for applications and shells and mods for them.
I am very happy that I opted for a Touch over a blackberry.

Uhmm... Iphone's biggest push is that anyone can make apps for it. Free software all over the place!!
But yes, Windows Mobile has been a ton of fun to use, and very familiar already. Office on my phone is a godsend. I'm already considering upgrading my memory card so I can jam more stuff on it.
I used to own the htc tytn and then opted for an iphone, i can safely say that come january when my contract ends I'll be returning to a HTC model phone.

A friend of mine in media got me one of these HTC Touch's to play with a few months ago... let me tell you one thing... The actual product design of it is excellent but Windows CE operating system is the worst. It is so slow. There is a pause between each keystroke. I would not EVER EVER buy this phone... get an iPhone instead. It's much better and at least Apple won't be going out of business anytime soon.
htc rocks my world! i'm still emotionally attached to my old htc tytn. 7.2 mb/s internet connection 7/24 in my pocket (3G, HSDPA). htc is leading mobile phone provider (though, they haven't been selling most of the products under their brand) and all of the products are very reliable in general.
i'm sure diamond touch pro would be something extraordinary!
Yeah, I almost held out for it.... it should be an amazing device, but I just couldn't wait. Plus, I have my fears, such as it's price, bugs (first release) and the availability here in Canada. Devices, such as the Iphone, tend to take a year or more to get here after the US.

Have you run Android on the Touch yet? The version I have is pretty basic, but it's cool to check out what they're up to.
I upgraded to the Diamond, but it has overheating issues. I need to go physically handle a Touch Pro and decide in the next few days to upgrade or not.
They (the Touch Pro) have been unlocked and so new custom ROM updates are already starting to appear. This usually clears up any issues the phones might ship with.

Hey Candy, I've been trying the Diamond for the last 30 days and had the same experience. I was downloading an app and the thing just started baking and froze up. I am hoping for better luck with the Pro.

I wish Samsung was making some more Winmo phones.
Have you ever flashed the ROM? It's pretty easy, basically just running a program on your PC while it's connected to the phone.
There are a few custom ROMs for the diamond worth using. They seem to squash bugs and tweak the OS a bit too. Keeping everything up to date. I've found most of the issues I had with the phone to be resolved with a 2 minute flash...too bad you can't flash a flip out keyboard.
The Pro has more physical RAM, which might be nice and a few extra features. The Touch is a little bit smaller. I need to actually touch them both before deciding.
