Anyone recommend some really awesome headphones.

What are some good headphones. I don't want any noise canceling, just really good sound quality and comfortable.

Any suggestions?

I remember seeing those Dr. Dre ones but not sure if they were serious or not. They definitely look cool but I'll just be using these at home so looks aren't really a big deal.

I'll have to check those other ones mentioned, thanks.

AKG 171 - Closed back headphones, keeps noise out as well as limited leakage so the person in the next office wont hear you listening to Pink.

Yep or the HD 600 which are probably much cheaper and nearly the same. You won't find better headphones for the price range you can get those at. The only headphones that can match them are some of the Grado headphones that cost well over $500.

or the Sennheiser Orpheus only about $15k to 30K

the big thing you need to take into consideration when buying headphones is whether or not you want those around you to hear the music also. Open or closed design.

Open design headphones will give you a much more realistic soundstage but obviously you would not want to be using them in an office because the person next to you will hear the music just as loud as you do! I absolutely adore my Beyerdynamic DT880 which you can get for around $325

If you need a closed design then I would highly suggest the Denon D2000 which are around $325 as well.

In any case, I suggest you spend a few hours (if not weeks) studying http://www.head-fi.org . The people on that forum are absolutely obsessed with headphones and their opinions are fascinating.

Get yourself over to head-fi and check it out!
