Connecting 2 computers to one monitor, keyboard, and mouse

Does anyone know of any software or hardware that will allow me to connect 2 computers to the same monitor/keyboard/mouse? Not looking for a switch or something that lags, they both should show up on the monitor on two different sides in real time. Could be a tough request but i am sure it exists somewhere..

If thats impossible maybe a program that allows you to use the same keyboard/mouse will work on 2 diff monitors/computers will work but the mouse has to interchange between monitors, not mimic the moves

synergy is great, but I don't think you can make two PC's share one monitor with it...

Switches lag!

Get infiniband or numalink (Numalink is great if you would like to share the mem between the hosts) put a sshd on every of these hosts and it will never lag!

If you on windows its really easy.

Just open up a remote desktop session on PC number 2.

I do this all the time. I connect to my tower with my laptop and it works perfect. I can then operate as I want. When I run with dual monitors on my laptop I use one for the tower and the other for the laptop and I have two machines with one control center.

EASY!

You could use Stardock Multiplicity, but it requires each computer have its own monitor. Why not use a KVM switch?

i have this on my office set up, it is a switch which is activated by hitting a pre-designated keyboard key twice, it works great, have used it for years. one machine is rendering or doing a raw batch while i can work on the other, switch back and forth with no effort whatsoever.

Yea Synergy is a good free program, but youll need two monitors for that program, using only one set of keyboard and mouse.

I use synergy it's incredible how it works.

I use it for Mac to XP and vice versa some stuff doesn't work but what does work is enuff for me..

But it won't display 2 computers one 1 screen at the same time... it's not meant for that..

As long as your command center is stuffed with RAM you can run as many as you want.

My old office I had 12 servers that I could connect to like that plus another 1500 end user computers that I could remotely operate like that. Not all at same time of course lol
