east indian & west indian.. difference?

to clearify, what is the difference between EAST indian & WEST indian?

east indian is like pakistan & west indian like trinidad/tobago, correct?

is there such thing as north & south indian? lol

east indian is INDIAN, nothing to do with pakistanis, if u group the 2 then they wud be called south asians

west indians are INDIANS that were taken from india a few hundred years ago as slaves and taken to the CARIBBEAN and after a few hundred years they mixed their INDIAN culture with british and african culture

now if u compare the 2 , the big differences are indians are highly educated and traditional while west indians are more liberal and less educated

north Indian is the NORTH PART Of INDIA
and south indian is South part of INDIA

the reason there is divide is there was a theory that NORTH is ARYAN and SOUTH is dravidian cuz north indians are very fair like spanish people and SOUTH are dark like dark chocolate BUT it was proved that all of india is the dravidian race so aryan theories are incorrect

its like saying EAST coast americans and WEST coast americans

but india has much more rich culture make MUCH WIDER differences like languages

south indian language is derived around tamil
north indian language is derived around sanskrit

My wife moved from New Delphi when she was 15. To this day she will refer to dark skinned Indians as south indians when she sees them.

thx for the responses so far guys! i'm asking because i'm working on a mainstream project with pakistan girls, caribbean girls, trinidad/tobago girls.

so it would be safe to label the pakistan girls EAST Indian and the caribbean & trinidad/tobago girls WEST Indian, correct? or should i label them as caribbean?

man, this is confusing.... ok.....

i have the categories 'black' & 'east indian' so far.... now...

trinidad/tobago girls don't really suit any of these 2 categories so i'm trying to create another category for them.... perhaps 'caribbean'? but then blacks like jamacians suit this category too....

if u ask me, id name pakistani girls as PAKISTANI or Muslim Girls,

Its like saying Swedish girls are the same as DANISH GIRLS just because they are white and geographically close.

If the Girls from teh Caribbean are really BROWN SKinned like girls in bollywood are, then call them West indians

Most of the people in the "West Indies" are decendenta of African slaves, mixed with Europeans and native American "Indians".

ur correct with the NAME ITSELF "WEST INDIES", but now MODERN DEF'N of west indians are described as COOLIES (Indians in the Caribbean)

if your site will be promoted to Indians then label Indian/pakistani girls as Indian
not east Indian
what the hell is east indian....Indians will ask themselves
If west Indian girls are fair (unlikely) label them as Indian as well
rest west indian
