Dresden was considered at the time by both the British and American (yes they bombed the city too) military to be a legitimate target and as WW2 was well before the age of the smart missile the only way to bomb a place was to blanket a wide area. Fact is if Germany hadn't let the Nazis cut a bloody path through Europe and Russia there wouldn't have been any bombings at all so that's the price they paid for making a deal with the devil :2 cents:

You sound like a Christian does when someone challenges their version of the world and history. Do you think if the Nazi's had won WW2 they would have proudly produced volumes of text books recording their war crimes....? Of course not, and neither did the British. Check here for some history you will not be taught in schools - http://canadiangenocide.nativeweb.org/intro2.html -- Britain has a shameful history in Canada, which resulted in the virtual extermination of an entire race of peoples. This is nothing to be proud of, and even more shameful is the British establishments inability to recognize our quite horrible wrongs. If it were evil for Hitler / Nazis to try and exterminate a race of people, then we must be equally evil for succeeding in all but exterminating an entire race of people.
You seem to misunderstand me -- I am not condoning the Nazis or supporting them. But just because they are evil doesn't make us good by default. The victors write the history books. Britain's biggest problem with the Nazis was the threat they posed to British supremacy, not with their treatment of Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, or Trade Unionists. You have to remember that the former King of England was in league with Hitler to be reinstated to the throne if Hitler won, and you cannot get more British than a bunch of inbred German pretenders to the monarchy than the royal family, can you ;)
