I know the feeling....I felt the same way when I moved to LA in 99'. I actually had one friend here that I had met on the internet. It was him who talked me into moving here to pursue my dreams. It was the best decision I ever made and one that has really allowed me to grow as a photographer.

I moved to South Africa without knowing a single soul with $2000 all in all, I ended up staying there for 10 years, met great people, made great friends, had very good time, at the end crime scared me and I came back

I'm actually very familiar with the clubs and all that, been clubbing here on trips for over 10 years, over all that. As for why I left LA, I didn't really, still have my house there, but scored a beach pad here for a few months before I head to Bali to surf in December.. But other than not knowing anyone (actually I have a business partner here in mainstream, but he's boring) I'm really LOVING this experience, I'm a somewhat nomadic person at heart.. And people I'm telling you, there are easily 5 times the ratio of hot women to dorks here than in LA (no exageration) and if you are a gold miner - go where the gold is...
