All things being equal, webmasters can expect to continue seeing their conversions decline further and further as the years progress. If your average conversion ratio right now is 1:1000, it is likely 5 years ago, it was around 1:500 or better. Five years from now, it will likely be 1:5000.

As long as one keeps generating more traffic to compensate for worsening ratios, they'll be fine.

I'd rather focus on things helping this industry. :)

They set that standard so they can charge more fees and make even more money.

The demand for porn is and always will be the same and more or less steady.

Actually, the distribution should be nowadays easier then before - better bandwith penetration/ better worldwide cc penetration/ all kinds of billing options / advanced marketing methods such as geo ip targeting / rss feeds / whatever, more advanced ways to quantify / qualify traffic, that all should make a life of a smart and dedicated marketer easier.

Of course that's a total non sense and would only work if the market would be the same as a couple years ago or at least would respect at least some form of business "ethics".

I guess the main things that are hurting the sales are oversaturation of the most popular niches, and much easier access to a free substitute.

There is uncomparably more marketers competing for the same piece of the pie among paysite owners / traffic holders which makes them pull the tricks out and those who are desperate are taking part in the free porn madness / dating and cams are funding sites that are degrading the value of the video through a hole in the law etc. etc. talk about evolution, I call it devolution. This was discussed thousand times.

Not saying anything new, it's of course more immediate access to get a free substitute of paid porn than ever, instead having to download fhg clips or photos from teasers that at least still had the links to the sponsors or waiting long hours for a pirated clip over the p2p that doesn't have to be what you were looking for, you just check the screenshot, click play and have it all served - it's a jerk or no jerk off question - very much the only big (d)evolution in porn that happened lately.

The best way how to get rid of the tube sites would be if there would exist some new form of dialer / major scam that would enable to bill every single dude that watches free porn over there - that would teach several millions of free jerkers to get back to the good old paid porn.

Nothing new stated.

Someday the sky will fall and you'll all be sorry for not heeding the warnings! You'll see!
