What's the most money you ever misplaced?

I went out this morning with a thousand euros in one pocket. Got home. No money. So either it fell out or I was pick-pocketed. Pick pocketing is not that usual in Malta so I reckon it was my fault. My wife always looks on the bright side. She said at least you're lucky enough to have a thousand euros in your pocket to lose. I can't help feeling bad though.

I lost an envelope with $12,000 in it once. It was at a restaurant bar. Had gotten paid from a job and was having a drink on a friday night (not drunk) got up to leave felt for the envelope that was in my back left pocket and it was gone. Prolly fell out and some lucky asshole found it on the floor and just kept on rolling. I don't blame em. I also lost a $3200 omega seamaster watch in a river once. I was more upset over that then I think I was the $12k, I loved that watch.

Just found 220$ in a book. Was amazed to find it, as I dont recall stashing it there.

Lost my High school ring in the ocean, and a few nice watches. Nothing over 3k though

What kind of job pays $12K cash in an envelope?

I spent $5k on a script that never really worked well, and in the end wasn't really that valuable. That doesn't count, I know, but still feels like money I could have thrown at strippers or something valuable.

I once used the wrong deposit slip (note: they do NOT pay attention to what's on the back of checks - just the deposit slip - asking for trouble, IMHO.......) and deposited $30K+ into the wrong account. I didn't realize it until checks started bouncing. I got the first bounced checks after the bank had closed and stayed up all night until the next morning freaking out thinking something horrible had happened - but it was just me being blonde.

That's your wife's way of admitting that she took your money.

I dropped $100 from my pocket the other day. Realised I had done it about a minute later and the fuckers walking behind me must have seen it and grabbed it.

Trust me it's not as scandalous as it sounds. I owned a company that did foundations for modular pre-fab housing. Some of our "good ol' boy" builders in the north GA area paid in cash for their development costs.

I forgot my wallet at an Italian restaurant in Prague. Only about €250-300 in it.
I thought it was stolen because in Prague there are a lot of pocket thieves. Luckily my friends made me go back to the restaurant and ask if they found it. I was 99% sure it was stolen and didn't want to go back but well I got it back

A few years ago I was at the bank depositing some cheques and I withdrew $1200. After looking over my statement, the current interest rate, etc., I walked out. When I got home, I went to pull the money out of my pocket but it wasn't there. I searched high and low for it and came to the conclusion that I must have left it at the bank. So, I called the bank and told them what probably happened and they told me to call back at the end of the day when they did their cashout. I figured either the person behind me picked it up, or I wasn't getting it back if the bank DID find the money (past experience kicking in). At the end of the day the bank manager phoned back and told me that my money was indeed waiting for me.

I've never felt like such an idiot.

Thinking back on it that night though, I'm POSITIVE the teller counted it out BEHIND the glass and never pushed it fully through the window.

Most of this happened many years ago:

I lost a wallet with $600+. I was drunk and have no clue where it went!

I lost another wallet at an Orlando Magic game, just $300+. Whoever found it was nice enough to keep all the money and mail it back to my house a week later (after i replaced all my bank cards and drivers license).

I lost another wallet with $1000+. I got home from the beach and started playing basketball. I couldn't put the wallet in my pockets because they were still wet, so I placed it on top of my Uncles van. He leaves and a couple hours later i realized what i was missing, but luckily found it in the middle of the highway a few hundred feet from my neighborhood.

I learned my lesson. I barely carry cash anymore!

But then 2 weeks ago I lost my checkbook. i was going to the bank and the trash men just came, so i place my checkbook on the back of my car and went to pick up my trash bins from the front of the driveway. I drive all the way to the bank just to notice everything was missing! The second i get back home i see a million kids walking around the neighborhood and no checkbook and a couple thousand in checks gone.

He blamed his little porn habit on me too. Lucky the cable co. had info where the movies were being watched.

Then he tried to blame a sign that he ran over on me too.

lucky i caught the fat fuck in action. Or else I'd be payin for that shit too

$300

I had it in a pack of cigarettes. I was at a party and after I smoked the last cigarette I threw the empty pack with the money in it into a fire.

I've lost other things that were of more value such as cellphones, etc.

Lost $300 out of my pocket at a club last month, I think that is the most I've ever lost as in just pure dropping cash.
