Serious : What's so bad about watermelon?

I've had it plenty of times in my life.

I don't think it's "the bomb", but it was good enough when I ate it.
It is better than honeydew melon or cantaloupe.
Honeydew really sucks balls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't eat much fruits and vegetables so I think I like watermelon as good as any
other fruit, except purple plums.

Apples, unless green, totaly suck!
Grapes tend to "squeek" on my teeth, so they suck.
Oranges are good except the mess.

So why is it such a "put down" to post those pics of people eating watermelon?

I'm not a "fruit connoisseur" so maybe my taste is way off from what a good fruit is
and therefore don't see the connection.

Well, I'm with you on that. It aint "the bomb!".

The flavor is too slight for me; I like spicy stuff and anyting without spice is not worth
me eating.

Maybe people who don't smoke or drink can really taste it and that's why I dont see
what the big deal is about it.

Try lycopene instead

I actually really like watermelon but again it does not taste the same if it comes from a store. It is not horrid, just not well watermelon either. Sort of how tomatoes really are not tomatoes when bought from the store. Most melons seem to be this way though.

I am of the variety that likes to add small amounts of salt to melons when eating them. It really brings out the flavor much more.

That made a difference!

I tried the salt thing but if I'm going to use salt then I rather eat a bag of chips
instead.

watermelon is awesome - nobody makes fun of watermelon itself - it's a very old stereotype that goes back to the days of slavery that black American slaves loved watermelon so there are tons of depictions through history of stereotypical happy nappy headed black people enjoying watermelon and today it's still part of racial humor.

i like the rind part almost as much as the pink part - didn't have much watermelon this summer tho

i wish they made Watermelon Kool-aid - i know there are some small soda pop companies that make a watermelon flavored soda

I LOVE watermelon! I eat it almost every day , usually in the form of those convenient pre-cut up chunks they sell in the supermarket! Today my lunch was home made tacos with lean beef with a little chunky salsa mixed in, shredded lettuce and chopped up tomatoes stuffed into large sprouted grain taco shells that I baked in my own oven from the tortillas, with some watermelon for desert!

UGH hate when people say organic tastes better and I actually am pro organic. Want taste better, eat it seasonally and as fresh from the plant as possible. Should still be warm on the outside from the sun.
